Default Verification process!!!

Hi,

Been reading the ebay Stealth Book.

I have used my bank "savings account" to set up paypal with - so they are verifying with this.

Ebay are also asking for verification either by telephone or credit card.
1) i have set up a forwarding number - can i use this to verify? someone told me that ebay can find out if the tel no. i slinked to the address or not???? is this true???

2) if i can use the tel no. to verify then do i have to get a prepaid card? or am i ok with the "saving account" and forwarding number.??

Thanks in advance

yes new mobile is good,

a savings can verify too, check out threads on savings accs, some verifications get rejected so you have to add the code quick to paypal, I have found most are fine and you can withdraw to alot them too, I seem to have a knack with them..because plenty of forumers have said you cannot withdraw to them, just posting my findings...

From the dozens of eBay accounts I set-up this year, eBay can not tell anything about the phone located to a matching address. I would go further and tell you how bad eBay is at "verifying" your details, but not in the open.

Also, Sipgate is your friend.

PP have the ability to do the phone-matching address process still, but phone verification on PP is being phased out in preference to docs, etc...

The basic rule to follow is to use a phone number not in use by any other active account. That is why new sim cards are an effective solution. It will be a fresh new un-used number. Though it can be impractical to have several mobile phones. That is why many favour VOIP.

Soho66 or similair also works, though their are always postings on problems when using voip numbers. I have never had an issue with them.

Ebay was not recognising the forwarding number i set up for some reason!!!

Anyway - i just used my new mobile number (this is not linked to any previous account) and it allowed me to verify. seems fine - so far........
