We are contacting you because your PayPal account has potentially invalid or outdated information. Please log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/uk and update the information indicated below. After logging in, click on the Profile tab to update your account.

PayPal periodically checks the validity of members' email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses to ensure security and prevent potential issues with inactive accounts.

If PayPal does not have current or accurate information on file for your account, we may be unable to confirm your identity. This may make it difficult for you to recover a forgotten password or to receive money sent to you via money request or posted cheques.
Please make the changes indicated above today, or simply choose to close this account and open a new one. You can even use the same email address to open a new account as long as that email address is valid.

If you do not wish to receive email reminders in the future, please edit your settings in the Email Preferences in your Profile.

Yours sincerely,

If it says nothing when logging in then delete that email. Its probably a phishing email.

The only way to know is to log in and see if you get the same request.

I got those a while back and just deleted them. They are not from paypal in most cases.

Yours is pretty much exactly how mine was worded.

could be a scam to get your log in detail, never hit a link in an email that states its from ebay or paypal, go to them yourself if they need to update info it will say so in your account itself

Yes this definetely sounds like a Phishing email, whatever you do DO NOT EVER click on any links in emails that supposedly take you to the Paypal website, it might look like the Paypal website but you will probably just get to a screen where you input your password / login details then find it say 'Error' or something, what you have done is hand over your account details to some scammer. I get these type of emails regularly and all I do is delete them instantly, I wouldnt even open it. Then if you want to check if its genuine then open your web browser seperately, go to Paypals website, login and if there is a genuine issue it will notify you when you login. I have sometimes forwarded these phishing emails to Paypal's fraud department so they can hopefully clamp down on these morons.
