| ed209 | 01-09-2012 07:27 AM | New Paypal Account Question & eBay Personal Information Question Hi
I very recently had my Paypal account limited but have a successful eBay account with near 100% feedback with over 2000 feedback. The eBay account is not the problem. (no cases open, high policy compliance, higher than average performance etc)
I have given up hope of getting my Paypal account back, but I want to try setting up a new one.
Do I have to update my eBay personal details to match my new Paypal account? or do I leave my personal details on eBay the same?
I understand that I need to create a brand new-start-from-scratch account with Paypal (new address, tel numbers etc) but I can tweek my first name right?
I honestly cannot afford the ebay stealth book as I have eBay fees to pay & lots of postage to do (will have to use my debit card as Paypal funds are frozen)
Any advice would be extremely grateful |
GrannyT | 01-09-2012 09:00 AM | Forget it ed209 - you are justing brewing yourself heartache and wasting a good bank account.
Time to start again I'm afraid |
ed209 | 01-09-2012 10:16 AM | So start again with a new eBay & Paypal account using altered name & new address etc?
Damn.. I've had that eBay account in good stead since 2008 :( |
xxxhustlerxxx | 01-09-2012 11:21 AM | if you wanted to use that ebay and a new paypal it can be done, but it will not last. best thing to do is buy the stealth book and start from scratch. my advice dont put all your eggs in one basket, as you have just found out. if one goes down its all over. you are best to make a few accounts then if one goes down you are still in business. |
a new paypal account will just be linked as soon as you attach to the ebay and they will shut you down again, and as GT said, waste a bank account which is not a good idea:nono:
if you want to start again with a solid account for the long term, drop me a pm |

i am sure i have read on here that you can do it, but it will only last a few weeks? |
ed209 | 01-09-2012 12:02 PM | Thanks for all the responses, I now have the stealth book - I am going to start afresh & leave my ebay account redundant & open a new one with a new PP account.
I am just now getting to the IP bit in the book -
I have a BT homehub (2.0) & I used the reset button & according to IPBurger my IP address changed. Will it stay like that though? The IP bit in the book is a little confusing even for a technically savvy guy like me :-/ |

Yer you can, some get shut straight away and some can last a good while, week months, it would say it depends on wether they think its worth killikg another bank account for.
Most time when i create a PP/Eby, i attach a few eby becuase sometime the attached accounts can last when you attach another pp i have a few that are at least a couple of years old. |

ed209 | 01-09-2012 01:23 PM | Great thanks hustler - that's one more thing crossed off the list |
Hi, I've done this just to see how long it would take them. Well what happened was
when I detached my old suspended PP account from eBay and attached a new one
they found out in about 2 months but when I left the suspended one there and kept typing in the email address of the new account into every single new listing I laster 6 months
so you do the math, whatever is more worth it to you but overall just an FYI on the time frames :-)
I felt it was only fair to share so you know what you are getting yourself into.

:yar: | Ahh ok...thanks for sharing the experience, basically whatever I do I'll probably get sussed out eventually unless I play my (vcc?) cards right ;) |
perhaps do it for as long as possible but do not add a bank account to the new paypal
wasting a bank account on a doomed paypal account would be a bad move |
ed209 | 01-12-2012 08:44 AM | I have just got confirmation of a bank account from Halifax but upon closer inspection it appears I have opened a savings account with no Standing Orders or Direct Debits allowed on the account - I take it this will be no good to attach to Paypal?
Would they allow me to change accounts from savings to current? This is stealth account but in my partners name. |

it can be used so search the forums, however current would be better if you can get one. |

:yar: | Will this timeframe depend on your turnover do you think?
I guess that only leaves you things to then buy using PayPal.. but to your stealth address! |

seanws30 | 01-16-2012 01:05 PM | just buy the book, its only like what $35?
if you cant afford that how can you afford to run a successful business?
the amount of knowledge in the book will pay for itself in no time. |

the amount of knowledge in the book will pay for itself in no time. | I got the book a week ago & a good chunk of my profit is tied up in Paypal
the rest is spread amongst a few banks & savings accounts.
I can & do run a successfull business it's just when you accept bloody f*****g paypal the wheels start to come off |

- Create new user account on PC
- Cleared cookies & Flash
-Set up a new ebay & paypal account (using stealth details from my partners OLD address she lived at about 6 years ago)
-Set up new current account with NatWest & linked to Paypal
-Set up a new VCC from Entropay & linked that to Paypal
-Got a land-line number from Soho66 (but haven't had to use this yet on eBay or Paypal?)
I am just kinda playing the waiting game now - want to list but will either wait a few days or list one or two low priced items tonight.
What would be the best line of attack for listing items again?
