Refunding a buyer...

Hey there!

A few months ago i sold a pandora bracelet and a few charms over ebay, i posted them and received the money... all well and good or so i thought!
I signed into ebay for the first time today and found that i've been left a few nasty emails and been taken to the resolution centre, the woman is claiming she never received the items and is demanding a full refund from me.
Now i don't shirk my responsibilities and usually i'd pay it straight away and apologize for the inconvenience, but i had the items tracked and they say they got to the lady's local post office just fine, so i really don't believe that she hasn't received them!

I stated this in the resolution centre and ebay STILL went in the buyers favour and now i have to pay her back £75. Like i said, usually i would not mind if i genuinely believed they had been lost in the post as she claims, but the tracking info said they'd been delivered so i really begrudge paying it!

Should i just ignore it or...?

Thanks x

Welcome to the forum :yar:

Bit tricky these claims.

Getting to her local post office and getting to her actual address are two different matters.

How was the item sent? :suspicious:

should you pay it? you wont have the option of not paying it. if ebay/paypal find in their favor they will get the money from you if they have to drive to your house and beat it out of you

Fax Eb and PP the reciept of the tracking and tell them it has been recieved. If it says its at her local post office it may well still be there. Ive had items not turn up in the past and the first thing i did was ring the post office and they have been there.

Post men/women dont always put a card through the door to say they tried to deliver it.

Did you send it recorded signed for??

Welcome to the forums. So when you gave tracking info - it shows as delivered? Might have to call up PP and press harder first.

What delivery service did you use, Recorded or Special delivery?

Neither of these are delivered to the local Post Office unless initial delivery has failed and the addressee has then requested it to be sent to the local office for collection. In either case a signature would be required before being handed over by the counter staff, so if RM are saying it has been delivered then you can be pretty sure it has.

If it was collected from the local sorting office again a signature would have been taken, You can also view the electronic signature online when checking the tracking info.

I would immediately appeal this and make sure that e/b or p/p check tho info manually as their system does not always pick up the tracking confirmation accurately. I've had this happen a couple of times and always managed to have the decision reversed in my favour.
