Ebay asking me to accept cookies....?

Greetings folks!

I've just logged into my ebay 'stealth' account as usual and for the first time a web page popped up saying that I had to enable cookies. I was able to just continue to the 'Selling' page though. Whats this all about? Are they going to make it compulsory? If so this is surely going to have implications for us 'stealthers', especially when operating multiple accounts. Is it anything I / we need to be concerned about or is it something I can just ignore and carry on as usual?

ta!

Johnny

Are you using a new web browser?

Best advice is always enable cookies and dont delete them. Using separate windows user accounts keeps them separate and prevents linking.

johnnyleeds 05-12-2012 12:19 PM

Eh? YOu are saying to accept cookies and not clear them? Surely that contradicts the Ebay Stealth advice? Or have things changed?

lightmaria 05-12-2012 02:32 PM

If its on a separate user account from all your other ebay accounts then it shouldn't matter if you enable the cookies, right?

clapclap 05-12-2012 02:43 PM

Thats correct. If you set up a new user on your computer you have no reason to delete

cookies because they cannot link you.

Just make sure you name the new account under the same name as your stealth account.

clap clap is correct..and actually that is stated in the stealth guide (regarding pc usernames)

internet cookies are as friendly as chocolate chip ones

keep them

Stigger 06-27-2012 01:39 PM

i never keep tempory internet files, dome storage or cookies.

i disable every option in the abode website storage panel

never had a problem swapping computers this way, but i do keep the same windows user account name for the account.

J1mgg 06-27-2012 01:52 PM

You will notice this on quite a few websites at the moment saying that by using the website you agree to their usage of cookies. Mey have been a change to t&cs with regard to third party cookies and advertising.

e/b & p/p are the cookie monsters so let them have them, it keeps them happy.

Just use separate user accounts as suggested.

oompaloompa 06-28-2012 04:30 AM

you do not keep cookies? dont you get asked to verify each time you sell?

If this is done from from the very start of the account there is never a problem is there?

My 'special' accounts are run like this:thumb:

Stigger 06-28-2012 07:13 PM

thats seems correct from beginning of account.

GreenBean 06-28-2012 07:17 PM

'the begining of the account' is the crux :thumb:
