| Local IP? To me a local IP is the one given by your router to you PC - this IP address is ONLY to do with the network in you own house, literally only between your PC and the router. These IP addresses start 192.168.xxx.xxx.
This local IP is nothing to do with your outside-world internet IP address that other internet sites see.
Your experience with Rapid share etc sounds like your internet IP is changing perfectly well.
Go to IP Burger - What is my IP Address? Find Your IP Address! to check you outside internet IP address, reset your router, then reload IPburger site and see if the number displayed changes.
Do read the Stealth guide a few times and spend quite a few hours searching for terms on here or just reading many threads - you really need to get to know things backwards, let them sink in good over time.
Too easy to make a simple mistake on the spur of the moment (e.g. you have 2 minutes to bid on something but forget you're using the wrong account on your main PC, no time to reset router etc..) Get organised and seperate all personal ebay/pp use from your business and be strict in method. |
