Scary times ahead! I'm barely getting by now as it is and i am not totally legit in what i sell.

Has anyone phone up to have there limits increased lately? Is it hard?

i made 2 EB accounts a couple of weeks ago, along with 2 PP accounts. i linked EB account 1 to PP1 about a week ago after PP was verified (sort of stealth, but with my real name). i linked EB account number 2 to PP2 about 4 days ago (complete stealth).

account number 1 has a selling limit of 25
account number 2 doesn't appear to have any at all (more than likely 100 though)

i'm not complaining, but i was planning on building account 1 up and letting 2 sit there for a bit. looks like plans are changing.

barton_67 07-24-2012 06:40 AM

is everyone now getting this? was going to make a new account today and try out a new line of products in a few weeks on it might just need to use an account i have been ageing if this is standard

paypalpains 07-27-2012 10:36 AM

Oh DAMN!! This is not good news, WTF , They only just moved the goal posts and now they are moving them again.
25 items I am going to need 20 accounts at the least.
I buy items in the hundreds sometimes 1000's to cut costs , just not worth it anymore, anyway, have a few more accounts with a 100, hopefully they stay or i am gonna be stuck with shed loads of stock. Centralising profit goes against everything the site is supposed to be about, FFS. Rant over, need to now go open a million accounts and get them harder than I have before . you will submit, ebay, you will submit .

derbydave 07-27-2012 02:37 PM

just checked the 2nd account i opened. no limits. f knows how, but one must not complain

paypalpains 07-27-2012 04:12 PM

lucky you, i did two today, one stayed at 10 one is at 25 both need phone calls to increase

Stigger 07-28-2012 08:29 AM

Hello how you managed to increase selling limit to 100. Did you linked to other established account or you linked it to Paypal?

Sentinel 07-28-2012 12:29 PM

I made an account last week and it had the 10 item limit and to get higher, I had to do the eBay letter verification and now it's on 100/3500

Ebayorbust 07-28-2012 01:57 PM

Those getting 100/£3500, are the paypals limit free, ie receiving limit lifted?

What about those getting 25/£750, any limits on the Paypal account?

Just an idea that may be worth looking into.

interesting point

i still had the £1900 receiving limit on paypal so be interesting to see if those people who got 100 limit confirmed there name/address on paypal first??

paypalpains 07-29-2012 01:26 PM

I have just created a new acc, waiting for deposits , and then will upload docs to paypal before I try to lift ebay limits. Will let you know how it goes

colt63 07-29-2012 03:34 PM

Logged in today to find that my limits have been lifted 260/3500, this is a first for me,
anyone else have their limits lifted on private seller account?

simba7 07-29-2012 03:53 PM

I created a seller account today and got 10/650 and then i upgraded straight away to a business account and then clicked request higher selling allowance which asked me to sign into paypal and after that i got 25/750

I clicked request higher selling allowance again and it asked for me to call them.

What would happen if we call them?

What sort of questions would they ask?

yep got 100/3500 like a few others in this thread- 260 is a really odd number (esp when backed by the 3500, which seems to be the norm 100/3500 items), have absolutely no idea where the hell they pulled that one out the bag from.

the one i have done still has limits in pp

Cheers for confirming Tizwoz.

I thought it was worth checking, afterall an Ebay account with a £3500 selling limit isn't a lot of use on a Paypal account with a £1900 receiving limit.

You're definitely right regarding the apparent inconsistency when Ebay make changes like this. Time will tell whether 100/£3500 is going to become a distant memory on a new account.

I would absolutely love Google to do an auction site, think they are the ONLY people who would put the sh*tters up EB!

I agree with GrannyT, I honestly think EB are steering towards the main brand / highstreet outlets! A shame really that a genuine honest Jo Bloggs that wants to sell his life history gets tarred with the 'scammer' brush!

IMO there are a lot more crooked buyers than there are sellers at the moment! And EB have only helped them along with all this 'buyer protection' Bull!
