I am trying by removing £1900 receiving limits and then linking eBay to increase limits. I will do this within this week as I am waiting for my paypal to become verified first. Please let me know what is result of this experiment on your side.

Thanks for your post. I'm not doing any experiment to report back on. It was just a thought I had that might help to get a 100 selling limit. I have no evidence either way to suggest it will / won't work. Chances are it won't.

Please do let us know what selling limit you end up with on the account.

That is strange, normally goes up in in tandem , 260/5000 etc

how did you go about getting 100/3500? was PP fully verified?

is the limit only on private accounts?

No, the only people which ebay fears is Taobao, they know the chinese dont fuc* around and you cannot control the chinese because they have this mentality similar to russians "I dont give a fuc*" and difficult to control them and distrust foreigners. For example, just look at the Olympics who is first with the Olympic medals? And who is second? Go back 10 years again and who is first? And who heard of China? And look at the sleeping red dragon today.. is it awaking. China is not communist, this is just to the western media, go to china and see for yourself who is the communist in this world and who really is the capitalist. How much money can you withdraw from a bank ATM machine in the uk? 250gbp ? 500gbp ? In china its 2000gbp/daily no questions asked at the bank and they give a return of interest of 9% can the UK banks do that? NO WAY and this is no BS, just look it on baidu.

Believe it or not Taobao purchased Auctiva, and have agreement with PayMate - Australian payment provider. They purchased other auction related websites, ebay knows this and ebay is trying to counter-attack into china, but the CCP wont allow it, why? Because like I said difficult to control them ;) Paypal "international" headquarters are in Asia in Singapore, you see ? Ebay/Paypal sh*t on there own people and put limits on sellers, and its not just ebay or paypal its the entire system including the banks its a joke. And ebay/paypal beg to be in China, the next superpower, myself when the day Taobao which also owns alibaba hits to west then we shall see ebay relaxing the rules.. it will happen the question is when.

That is ebay and get used to it, because they want the big players to merge with ebay and fight off the smaller guys ;) That's the plan im surprised no one realised this.

What bank do you have verified with PayPal?

I too have this problem, I have created 2 new seller accounts one which was 1-year old aged buyers account with 100+ feedback and linked to PP verified account, all in stealth name and address that I really need to get the 25/£750 a month lifted on ASAP as I have over 2000 listings normally.

Both the eBay account PP account are at an local address I looked on on 192.com, in something very similar to my name, however I don't have access to the address.

Question...

Now if eBay are asking to send a letter to the address registered on the account to raise the limit to 100, what if I just changed the address, but kept the name the same and used the same technique as on a buyers account whereby you spell address wrong (say 19 Colege Road instead of 19 College Road) and then same postcode so the letter would then come to me, and then clicked the send letter button.

Would this work? as it does with a buyers account postal address or would there be problems being as my actual address (correct spelling) and postcode are currently blocked, but this would be be address spelled wrong and correct postcode

Has anybody else tried this or something similar at all to get past the 25 limit?

Alternatives?...

1. - What about changing address to one that I do have access to with my name on it instead and hitting send letter?

2. - Wait it out 3 months and build up DSR's and feedback on new seller account just listing 25 a month? - Do they automatically lift your limit after 3 months of selling the same items in same categories.

3. - Or ringing them?, does this definitely work to lift to 100, I use a Soho66 forwarding number registered on the ebay and PP account, what the best way to use this to ring them.

When will that limit raise again after the 100, to unlimited?.

Just got my PP fully verified, no good for me, maxed out at 25/750 with fully verified PP :(

This is bad news! What next?

Accounts always have limits. They are reviewed monthly and increased (or even decreased) based on the volume / value of sales and your "quality" scores (cases opened, warnings, DSRs, feedback).

I personally quite like this as it makes it a lot harder for a new seller to seriously compete against my established accounts. Maybe a selfish approach to take but business is business.

The biggest problem with this is that it does not only effect ebay users. It has a knock on effect for lots of companies and businesses.

Your selling is limited, so you buy less from suppliers, so they suffer too, if not more, as they are relying on buyers buying in large quantities from them. However what is the point if you are not going to be able to shift it yourself? So the chain is long and lots will struggle, hence hopefully lots of people will moan complain ( people outside of ebay) and ebay will have to review this stupid pulled out of the hat thought process and procedure. Well that is what they should be doing, whether or not they will remains to be seen. **** it effects their own margins by millions. Can not see this lasting long.

There is a way around this limit, specially for auction listings

Like simba I got the 10/650 limits until I linked to verified paypal then limits increased to 25/750. It says to call to raise limits further - any danger in doing this?

I am inclined to try this but after 3 months from my first sale.

They will ask a bunch of questions i assume about supplier and how many you wish to sell and what your plan is.

Just answer with genuine looking information and they should raise it.

Some people say its a risk but thats if you have a stealth account.

Like you I think I'll wait a while & see what happens then
