hi Just to confirm I dont have an agreed overdraft facility, but nationwide will let accounts go overdrawn does that make sense

so if I went 150 od Id have to pay 160 back in to have 10 pounds available

Are you saying that they will let you go overdrawn but then charge an "unarrange overdraft" fee? If so, take out enough money so that the eBay fee transaction will fail (even having just 1p less than the amount require din your account will work), but ensure that your remaining balance is enough to cover any "returned item" fee.

Seeing as you cancelled the DD with your bank, nothing will be charged to you. On the 25th you should get an email that the echeque has failed and because you cancelled the DD, PayPal will likely remove the bank from your account.

I don't think it's ever that simple. That hasn't been my experience when they have already begun the transfer.

I've had success with avoiding OD fees.

It's a timing factor

Not something to do too often.

The banks (RBS & Natwest) waived the fees.
