Cant stop an echeque.
Contact the bank & make arrangements with them.
Ah, when you agreed to the T&S of paypal AND put a bank account on file, you opened the door to this happening. |

Usually takes 3-4 four days for echeque to clear from bank - are you sending funds up to pp? or withdrawal from pp to bank? Not so clear your message.
Sometimes money can move faster but the 4 days is expected timeline. I have had money hit my bank within 24 hours. Depends a lot on bank.

Depends a lot on bank. | If he asked " how long before echeque shows or comes out of bank" in the title and mentioned "eBay fees" and "echeque" together in the post then I thought it would have been obvious which it was.
Not reading the post too well again are you.

I think it's perfectly clear.
OP, I take it you don't wish the payment to complete?
If the bank has cancelled the PayPal Direct Debit mandate, the request from PayPal will fail and will be returned marked Direct Debit Cancelled.

Seems you were not aware of another thread which laid the background to the entire problem. |

if you have no overdraft then its likely the payment will bounce
PP will email you
then pay your fees a different way
i pay them at the close of play each day now from pp balance
saves alot of potential problems

Once your Bank get the request from PP its game over - all case i have seen have been because of name miss match.
What you have to do , Is go in to PP and remove your bank account from PP but it will only work if your bank have not got the request from PP.
removing your DD at the bank end may of already removed your bnk account from PP.
it boils down to what bit of information PP get first
silly situation to be in that i am sure of, there a loads of ways to make sure this does not happen, If you do get to keep the account see this as a MASSIVE WAKE UP CALL

Since it's too late, there is one last thing that you can do.
Just withdraw enough cash from the bank (for example, if you have £100 available and the fees are £50, leave only £49 left so that it will fail), and make sure that the remaining amount is enough to cover any "returned item fees" that you may get from the bank.
Then you are only out of the bank's fee and succeeded in getting the echeque to fail.
Even if you have an overdraft facility, just dip into your overdraft and leave less than the eBay fee amount remaning.

even a faild reply from the bank is enough for paypal to see the real name.
Like i said, the only real way to stop it is remove the bank account from pp before the request from PP hits the bank.
removing the DD at the bank end remove the bank from pp but usually take a few days but the reqest usually take a day longer so, it really boils down to , if the OP removed the DD from his bank account with in 24 hours of PP sending the request.
