| | | Bunneh | 10-28-2012 08:43 AM | New Seller Limits or what? About 3 weeks ago i created a new UK ebay seller account.
I have fully verified it, and have verified paypal etc..
But i listed a few items, and then requested to increase selling limits, and normally they request to post a letter sent to the address registered on the account.
This time i just had to get a phone call with a pin, however now instead of the limits increasing to 100/£3500 now i get 25/£750 per month.
Is this new?? Has anyone else got this?
I thought 100 items a month was low, but 25 is just painfully low lol.. |
| meVebay | 10-28-2012 09:08 AM | 25/£750 now seems to be the new 100/£3500.
A quick call will get them raised to 100/£3500 or even higher if your lucky! |
| AmazonStealth | 10-28-2012 09:12 AM | They wont get raised until after 90 days, then you can raise them every 30 days after that. |
| meVebay | 10-28-2012 11:14 AM | You can call the day you create the account and get them raised.
90 days is for automatic increases, and even those are being reported before 90 days now. |
| Bunneh | 01-30-2013 05:30 PM | Are new accounts with 100 items to list, a thing of the past?
or am i to expect the 25 item limit still :s |
| Elijah | 01-30-2013 05:32 PM | There are very few cases where people get 100 these days in the UK. 25 is the standard limit.
It's been like this since about July though so you found out late... |
| NoneOther | 01-30-2013 05:32 PM | Yes, they are a thing of the past.
25/£750 is now the standard after linking p/p account |
| Bunneh | 01-30-2013 05:35 PM | this is just rubbish really!
What about if you request the letter to your address? does that increase it? |

| SimpleX | 01-31-2013 11:08 AM | I tried calling on one account to see if I could get the limits raised, and was just advised to press the button for the letter confirmation. I guess it just depends on what rep you get on the phone.
I'll make another call once I have some sales on the account, so they have more to look into, and consider when making a decision on raising limits over the phone next time. |
| twink2012 | 02-04-2013 07:36 AM | hi I had the 25 limit I called them after I got a few feedback and said look I dont want the world but a bit more than 25 would help , and they were really helpful I dont see what the fuss people make about calling them is Ive done it twice now |
| NoneOther | 02-04-2013 08:47 AM | e/b consider many factors when assessing whether they will raise selling limits on a new account, it's all about risk for them.
The less risk they perceive the more likely you are to get selling limits raised.
Calling them however will not work on every account and as many users have found to their detriment it has backfired on them by leading to docs requests or worse permanent limitations.
It's a bit like Russian roulette, keep pulling the trigger and eventually you will shoot yourself in the head
Personally I like my head as it is and have always found patience to be a virtue when dealing with e/b or p/p
If I need to sell more I open more accounts, then I'm always ahead of the game |

| bruceuk | 02-07-2013 09:36 AM | Ebays new hotline number direct to limits department .
# 666
Dont stay on the line to long or the phone starts to become hot ! |
| bigdaz | 02-09-2013 04:51 AM | how do limits get raised continuously?
i dont want to phone ebay
i dont know the DOB on a couple of accounts  |
| NoneOther | 02-09-2013 06:18 AM | Just keep selling up to your limits and try to avoid any neg fb or opened cases |
| eternity4u | 02-09-2013 07:18 AM | So, how many of you's have the limits raised after 90 days, even on a good DSR? |
| arshavin | 02-09-2013 08:32 AM | I have a TRS account that still has the original 100 selling limit. The account must be a year old.
I have other accounts that are not TRS with much bigger selling limits. Its pure pot luck in my opinion.
In 90% of cases you start seeing increases after 90 days. |

90 days is not a hard and fast rule, it's all about how your account is set up, what you sell and how you sell which all goes towards gaining e/b's trust |
| Batman | 02-12-2013 07:14 AM | i had requested a letter twice to the address i had access to. both times i misplaced it somewhere lol, now i try requesting it again it says i have to wait 2 weeks before i request it again but i never even requested it 2 weeks ago. if i dont type in the code will my limits increase or do i have to put in the code? i was thinking to call eb |
| NoneOther | 02-12-2013 08:32 AM | You have to input the code and calling them will probably make no difference.
If you need to sell more just open more accounts.
"Simples" as Sergei would say. |
| Batman | 02-12-2013 08:43 AM | ive lost the letter with the code and when i request a new one it wouldnt send me one it says try again in 2 weeks or something. reason why i wanted to call them is to send me the letter as it wouldnt do it from my account. |
| NoneOther | 02-12-2013 08:50 AM | They probably still won't send it anyway as you have already requested it and because their systems are automated they haven't got the brains to figure out how to send it manually. |
| Batman | 02-12-2013 08:56 AM | i did request it couple months ago, twice, but have misplaced it somewhere at the address. il have a look and ok il give it a miss calling them i think. |
| bigdaz | 02-13-2013 09:17 AM | What do they ask when u ring them? |
| Batman | 02-13-2013 09:31 AM | i never rang them, if i want to speak to them i might use the ebay chat. |
| Batman | 02-13-2013 12:03 PM | update: got my code, punched it in ebay got my limits increased :) | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 07:48 AM. | |
