Default New Seller Limits or what?

About 3 weeks ago i created a new UK ebay seller account.
I have fully verified it, and have verified paypal etc..

But i listed a few items, and then requested to increase selling limits, and normally they request to post a letter sent to the address registered on the account.
This time i just had to get a phone call with a pin, however now instead of the limits increasing to 100/£3500 now i get 25/£750 per month.

Is this new?? Has anyone else got this?
I thought 100 items a month was low, but 25 is just painfully low lol..

25/£750 now seems to be the new 100/£3500.

A quick call will get them raised to 100/£3500 or even higher if your lucky!

They wont get raised until after 90 days, then you can raise them every 30 days after that.

You can call the day you create the account and get them raised.

90 days is for automatic increases, and even those are being reported before 90 days now.

Are new accounts with 100 items to list, a thing of the past?
or am i to expect the 25 item limit still

There are very few cases where people get 100 these days in the UK. 25 is the standard limit.

It's been like this since about July though so you found out late...

Yes, they are a thing of the past.

25/£750 is now the standard after linking p/p account

Letters are not standard, that option is very randomly applied when requesting increases

I tried calling on one account to see if I could get the limits raised, and was just advised to press the button for the letter confirmation. I guess it just depends on what rep you get on the phone.

I'll make another call once I have some sales on the account, so they have more to look into, and consider when making a decision on raising limits over the phone next time.

e/b consider many factors when assessing whether they will raise selling limits on a new account, it's all about risk for them.

The less risk they perceive the more likely you are to get selling limits raised.

Calling them however will not work on every account and as many users have found to their detriment it has backfired on them by leading to docs requests or worse permanent limitations.

It's a bit like Russian roulette, keep pulling the trigger and eventually you will shoot yourself in the head

Personally I like my head as it is and have always found patience to be a virtue when dealing with e/b or p/p

If I need to sell more I open more accounts, then I'm always ahead of the game

I have a TRS account that still has the original 100 selling limit. The account must be a year old.

I have other accounts that are not TRS with much bigger selling limits. Its pure pot luck in my opinion.

In 90% of cases you start seeing increases after 90 days.

I've had limits raised automatically on accounts after 30 days and some on 45 days.

90 days is not a hard and fast rule, it's all about how your account is set up, what you sell and how you sell which all goes towards gaining e/b's trust

You have to input the code and calling them will probably make no difference.

If you need to sell more just open more accounts.

"Simples" as Sergei would say.
