Default seller limits

Have an eBay Stealth account up and running now for 5 months with 100% feedback, Started off with 10/$800, then 20/$1000 - 30/$1200.00 & now 40/$1600 per month limits.

Obviously i can't verify my info, so was hoping to build up with excellent service and feedback.

I am NOT paypal linked to my ebay, but when an auction ends, i manually send an invoice through paypal with a payment request.

Question then is, am i on such a small selling limit because of not linking paypal, or do i just have to keep whittling away month to month as i have been to get limits higher?

Q for you - as you manually send the invoice out for the auction, do you still deal with 21 day holds?

Good question rsot I think the answer is no. I sold something saw the hold and refunded it and told them to pay a different email and no holds!

Are you refunding your customer and asking them to pay through a different email through ebay messages? Or did you let them pay refund it and contact their email address through paypal?

I think if we think of some good excuse, like, "I'm very sorry, I added the wrong paypal to the checkout. Please send to this one .........@hotmail.com , instead of this one ........@hotmail.co.uk" etc

Will be more convincing at least

My email with paypal and ebay is the same, but when i sell something, most customers say something like "i couldn't get to pay by paypal for some reason" thinking it's a glitch or what not and can i send them an invoice. Which of course i do and 99.9% of people always pay and the .1% that doesn't seem to either not pay or just cancel.
i have not had any holds on my account, the good thing about not linking is that you can build up good ebay feedback and have 100% sales, as well as 6 months plus of use age, & not have to be living in fear of the dreaded paypal needs additional info. not once has paypal hassled me for anything. I've taken in about $4k over the past 5 + months, not a great deal, but it makes my car payments and such each month and little drama.

All items i list are under $100.00, but it would be nice to be able to list 100 + items per month and have sales of say $5k per month, be nice to use this slush account o pay my mortgage payments :-)

Customer's definitely get sketched out if you refund and then ask to get paid on a different email.

This tactic definitely works though. I just put in the auction to wait for an invoice before sending payment. A lot of people send payment anyways, but I refund it and tell them to pay through the invoice "for our records." No one has complained yet... Best way I have found to avoid those 21 days... And there's no reason I see to use a separate pp acct. Just use the same one linked to eb.

When you say "I am NOT paypal linked to my ebay, but when an auction ends, i manually send an invoice through paypal with a payment request."

Doesn't that link you? EB and Pay pal are basically the same. They share all info don't they?

I'm also at the 40 item limit and i linked day 1, so i don't think the small selling limit is because you didn't link day 1.

I got 2 accounts like this and i hope in a few days it raises. If it don't raise, i just have to get more accounts going fast.

because i got that rotten Hugesnet and that limits my ip's, i have to go ahead get the dial-up because there is no other option where i live. no cable,,no dsl

It will cost about 75 bucks a month for dial up because i have to pay for a landline phone first and then pay the bit**es for the internet

I'm paying 75 bucks a month for the Hughesnet now with a 2 yr contract.

This waiting game is killin me...... i just need to make the move and do it

I know of one other way to raise your limits....move to another country that starts you out with 100 items. When i see them people cryin about the 100 item limit when they first list, all i can do is shake my head and wish they would start us out at 100 and not 10...

This thread has me thinking of doing things a little different. I HATE the 21 day hold, especially when I consider EB/PP also hold the shipping costs hostage and at some point decided a good alternative to 21 days is to release the $ 3 DAYS AFTER delivery conf. Where they get this 3 day delay idea from is anyone's guess and really, what the f for???

Apparently it's no problem to use eBay msg sys to ask customers to send payment to a different PP or wait for an invoice from seller. Interesting, hope that works in the long run.

But Cashew has a good question. When you send an invoice to someone via PP, PP doesn't know what it's for UNLESS you specify in the request for money that it's for an eBay item. At least that's the only way I believe the powers that be can find out.

How do you know the buyers paypal email though?

On ebay UK it doesn't show in the buyers details until they've paid through ebay checkout of course.
