Default Changed details...Should I list?

Hello

I had an account dormant for some months and about 10 days I changed the name and address.

Since then I have browsed occasionally, bought 2 regular items which i wanted, with one being over £20.

Should i list 1 or 2 items or should I wait and buy odd bits now and again for a while?

I would prefer to list a couple of items but if patience is advised, i'll heed this advice if given!

Thanks for reading

Changing the name and address on an account is a dangerous thing to do at any time. I assume you have also changed the details on the attached p/p account at the same time. Yes/NO? If not this will most definitely result in some action from either e/b or p/p and possibly both.

My guess is that as soon as you try to list anything the account will be flagged for review and may result in an ID and address verification request.

Hope you are a 'gal'.....

Got married and moved address.

Otherwise a most risky move.

Info changes flag accounts.

Address has been done but name too...name is huge risk.

Agree with posters - why?

Agree with rsot, people move around all the time so changing the address alone is less risky but still a risk none the less.

Changing name and address, especially on an account that has been dormant for a while is super risky. e/b & p/p will immediately flag accounts for suspicious activity related to account hijacking. They will want ID verification.

Thanks for taking the time to reply folks.

The name and address are the same as the paypal now.

Name change is because it was from an ex girlfriend and we were living together at another address.

From the replies received I think I may as well just start from scratch with a new account, and follow the softly softly principles which I have read numerous times through the various topics on this forum. The only reason to keep it is it is set up for selling.

That said I can't get it past 10/650 as I do not get the code attached with the 0.01 deposit to confirm a bank account. Deposit came 8 days ago, checked mini, main statements online - nothing. That's a story for another thread methinks!

As a point of ( possible! ) interest relating to this, a friend and I came to an arrangement whereby I took over his account as he was concentrating on other areas, on his other account. It had over 5,000 feedback at the time and we changed all the details - name, address, paypal for fees, paypal as a payment address in the listings, telephone number etc - nothing untoward happened and it has over 11,000 feedback now 18 months down the line.

You have been fortunate but you are not clear of any possible repercussions.

The bots will catch up with you eventually, they have all the time in the world.

I would love to disagree and say that myself and the other party had agreed to everything ( which he could confirm easily ) but this is ebay we are talking about! The main reason I have purchased the stealth guide is to have back up plans.

Whether you and the other party were in agreement or not is irrelevant.

e/b and p/p accounts are NOT transferable, it is a breach of their T&C's.

As I said, so far you have been fortunate and I hope it continues but your doing the right thing in preparing backup stealth accounts

Best to start fresh - unlinked - problem is if she has another account and has problems...it could be traced to the original name on your account...hopefully now, but it COULD. Only time will tell. One possibility.
