Do eBay / Paypal Keep ID / Invoices etc on File?

I wondered if eB@y / PP keep all ID / Invoices etc 'on file' when they request info about your account. I know eB@y state that once you fax them required info that they 'supposedly' destroy all info once verified.

Does anyone know if that is true or just a load of old tosh + does it apply for both PP & Eb@y?

As long as they comply with Data Protection Law they can retain the information for use within their own organisation.

I am sure they do, indeed, destroy the all info....that doesnt mean they do not retain it on back up servers.
