Default Post Office Online Saver

Hello everyone.

I tried reading about this but could not get a definite answer. Does the Post Office Online Saver have Direct Debits or should I treat this like a normal savings , ie, verify, then delete the bank details then input it again when I withdraw?

Thanks in advance

What about mr or mrs matched names then?

But seriously, that would be the standard and correct reply from any bank/provider.

It does not mean in reality that it won't accept them.

Yes it has been tried.

There are several existing posts regarding it already.

BTW any account will accept a DD mandate initially, the problem is how long they last until rejected by the bank

I guess if used it would be safer to treat it like normal savings and delete the account details after verifying and just add it back when withdrawing. Rather than risking the direct debit to bounce back.

Yep, did indeed! Said that my partner was looking to get her wages paid into my account via DD monthly and she has a different last name, they said that it would be bounced back unless the account was in both names.

Local PO guy has known me for years, and owns a few of the local branches so sure he knows what he's talking about.

Standard answer as I said before.

Reality is often very different case.

I have added it now. But the paypal deposit if .01p to get the PIN is not as instant as the others. I will check it again Tom if its there.
I guess it is safer to put it, cancel it, then put it back again. Than risking for the direct debit to bounce back thus losing the bank acct for paypal. I will keep you posted.
