Yeah the 'I'm on holiday' is only if your a shop I think.

Sometimes even that doesn't work. Last year, I went on holiday for two weeks. Holiday settings were put on all my shops. On one account my BIN listings were still visible. Came back to dozens of sales. Thankfully there were no open cases and a grovelling email sent to all buyers did the trick.

Remember that year there was that horrible snow all over Christmas? Think it was two years back.UK was more closed down than usual

Holiday notices failed on two of our accounts like that. Now we go on holidays a week before we really close up. Not being caught again.

I find that is best practice as well - shut everything down a week before I go. It ensures all items should be delivered before I go and therefore cuts down the number of buyer issues that potentially need to be dealt with.

I also dont have postings up during vacation - I have got the odd buyer in the past who has purchased an item then sends an e-mail within minutes asking 'I need this quickly! Please ship! For a gift! Help me!' - ugh I dont need the worries while on vacay.
