Default coinstar teams up with paypal

I found coinstar that has teamed up with PP and It looks like the kiosks are in UK and USA.
(PP not in UK yet but in some places in USA)
**************************************

PP advert...
Say hello to your money. You can load, withdraw, and send money right from the kiosk.
Better yet, you can add coins and paper money.

If you’re a current PayPal user, you’ll love having quick access to your money.
Especially being able to withdraw cash on the spot. If you’re new to PayPal, you’ll
love being able to shop online without a credit card.

**************************************

Anyone using to withdraw from PP UK?

Can you add this to withdraw if NO bank acc is attached to PP but only VCC used to verify?

I thought it was only at selected USA kiosks, can you provide the link for UK you saw?

Find a convenient and easy to use Coinstar® machine near you.

If you hit "15" shows up 15 spots in general...seems to be in UK now.

The Coinstar method has already been discussed already, this would only work with a legit account also it would require SSN on file with Paypal.

They are just the standard ones, not the ones running in the trail, from what I understand at least.

I remember some time ago that coinstar would charge people about 5--6.9%. Now I see them at 8.9% and some places are over 9%, close to 10%. People are really insane to give them that much money in fees. I still see lost of people put their coins into these machines. Most banks near me charge about 2%, one is free if you have an account with them but forgot who.

INSANE...

You think that's bad? There are coinstars up here in Canada...passed by a few at local supermarkets.

From the website https://www.coinstar.ca/FAQ.aspx:

Is there a charge to use the Coinstar Centre machine?
Yes. There is a 11.9% processing fee in Canada. Some retailers or financial institutions may choose to subsidize this fee.

Sickening - and yet people go and pump their coins into this money grabber.

I wish I had come up with this idea myself.

What a great idea this was.

Cool news.

Indeed there is no SSN in UK, so should be a nice cashing out method despite the high fees.

I'm don't think operating the machine in a frankenstein mask will arouse any suspicion.

Never going to be able to go near a coinstar booth now without laughing.

Well listen to this little tale of mine and you might find yourself having a close look at these change machines more often!

A few months ago my friend Dave was going into the local Asda supermarket when he noticed a few odd coins on the side of the coin changing machine - you sometimes find them that people have left behind because they were rejected by the machine due to them being bent / foreign / ⊗⊗⊗⊗ / tokens etc. Anyway he scooped them up to give to me as he knows I collect foreign coins of all kinds. On closer inspection one of the coins looked particularly special - IT WAS ONLY A FULL GOLD SOVEREIGN !!!

To be honest I'd never seen a gold sovereign before and at first I thought it was some sort of brass coin from a foreign country, however it turned out to a be a genuine George V Full Sovereign coin from 1912 made from solid gold! We ended up flogging it for £269 on Ebay!

Of course we gave £20 to our local cat rescue charity due to our good fortune. What else were we supposed to do tho? someone had clearly no idea what was in their change jar when they changed their coins at the machine, and when the sovereign was rejected they chose to leave it behind and we had no way of finding out who it belonged to.

Anyway its probably quite rare for that to happen, but it did happen and my friend found what probably amounted to a lot more money than the owner actually got from changing their pennies! Crazy eh?!
