bought the book....something not mentioned?

do i need a different camera to take my pictures?

i had a very 'stylised' way of shooting my vintage clothes, which i accept i'll probably have to change, as well as the way i wrote my descriptions (really annoying, as they worked brilliantly!) but i worry about the digital info contained with the .jpg matching that of my suspended account.

or am i worrying too much?

cheers..

Good question Billy, I use different photos from different angles from different parts of different rooms.....What I dont use however is a different camera..

Maybe someone on here can answer the OP, I would guess it should be ok considering I have never seen anyone on here with this problem in the past.

Use a program to remove all the photo data.

Batchpurifier is free and can do multiple images at one go.

Luckily not a different camera. But certainly re-present your images.

You can use batchpurifier as mentioned or exifdata cleaner.
Some suggestions in the below thread.
watermarking your images is essential.
Change your backdrop colours and layout.
Make you not longer look like you

Better to be safe than sorry, I have had a few people use images that I have taken.

I have also used photos with my username added on to avoid other people using. Just because no one has nicked your photos in the past, does not mean it may not happen in the future

billymac 05-06-2013 01:28 PM

i dunno...i can't see anyone else using some photos of an old shirt that i've taken and using them for exactly the same shirt that they've got.

put it this way, i'm not aware of it ever happening on my old 5k+ account

billy brother

these ppl know what they are talking about

stealth is about keeping under the radar and also keeping risk to a minimum, you need to take all advice and put it into practise

ExifCleaner is a decent program to use

WATERMARK YOUR PHOTOS!!!

I've had a collectables enthusiast use my ebay photos without permission on their collectors information site (a compliment as they were very nice photos if I do say so myself). Fine I thought, happy to help fellow enthusiasts.

I later had to re-list the item and then got accusations of being a scammer because I'd simply copied the photos from the enthusiast website !!

Then try convincing the buyers that "Honestly, you won't believe this. Haha, you couldn't make it up could you? Those are really MY photos..and they copied them!"

Yeah right..

:noidea: wotyagonnado?

Yeah, watermarking photos is good, safe practice.

P.S has anyone ever gone a step further and found a way to introduce ⊗⊗⊗⊗ metadata into the files? Different camera, settings etc?

Just adds the details in on your stealth character.

What for? No data is the best data.

Re: bought the book....something not mentioned?

Most people's self-taken photos DO have data so wouldn't a vigilant person flag no data as a sign that the photos weren't originals taken by the seller?

On a deeply scrutinised manual review I'd have thought it would flag up in someone's mind as being odd in some way at least.

Granted, the likelyhood of it coming into scrutiny is probably slim.. but if one could be bothered to add in data, then why not? Just a matter of effort v necessity ..

Re: bought the book....something not mentioned?

I've uploaded pics with no data, never had a problem. If you feel the necessity to put custom info on each picture then do so, but I can't imagine the time consumed doing so when clearing the data takes seconds and has zero problems.

I wish you good luck on that.
