Hello again chaps,

I'm new to stealth and the forums, I've made a couple of posts already and appreciate the help so far.

I've done some reading to build on the knowledge from the stealth guide but I'm hoping you can give me some guidance I can use for my particular situation.

I'm starting afresh and building feedback with a few buys of varying value.

I intend to start selling properly again but will start by shifting some 'crap' I don't need - again to build some seller feedback.

As a 'newbie' can you tell me:

Am I likely to have selling limits?
When and how are these lifted?
Am I likely to get automatic holds on paypal or are these placed on accounts after certain activities/selling high value items?
Also - how best to avoid/remove holds when they are placed?

I understand that these initial restrictions depend on what items are being sold. I will be selling footwear but I also sell low value study guides.

Massive thanks in advance - you guys are the dogs b....cks!

Yes, definitely

Usually after around 3 months they'll start raising your limits. they generally don't give you an infinite amount to sell and allow you to make a bottomless pit of money though.

You'll almost certainly get the 21 day hold (unless your PP account is relatively old) and they won't be released until you can prove your item has:
1) tracking, and has been in the buyers hands for at least 3 days, in which case you can email/phone paypal with the tracking info and get the funds released.
2) the buyer has confirmed receipt of the item through PP
3) the buyer has left feedback. you can email/phone PP to release the funds if they have.

i'll let others have a stab at that. you can't avoid/remove holds though, you have to wait for PP to do it.

I don't think it matters what you're selling.

Cheers mate, you're a good man! Holds don't seem a problem then as if your selling practices are spot on then the cash will get released.

I can live with the selling restrictions for the short term and I can always create another stealth if it becomes an issue.

Replies to your questions are along the lines of what team will win the Barclays Premier League title next season.

Nothing could be concrete.

Yes your account should have selling limits.

They will be lifted the day after you despair of their ever being lifted.

Depending on paypal's perception of your account, there is a high chance of holds. Keep in mind that in the early days of the account, ebay & paypal combine to place holds.

Once they are placed, they can not be avoided. Removal will be down to the way in which you operate the account.
Aim for fast shipping, great customer service, getting feedback and such.

Not impressed with footwear as an item. Have you any knowledge of selling it before? Is it 'named' or 'branded'? May have issues there.

It will be hard at the start. It will be hard in the middle.
Operate as best you can. Keep in mind to consult with the forum if issues happen. Avoid coming looking for help after the event.

Good Luck on this new adventure

Good attitude - ship quickly, get good feedback and wait.

Create more stealth accounts and spread sales

I'm experienced with sales in footwear so I know many of problems I had to tackle with a large account.

I'm not a large volume seller - I only use eb to give me a few grand a year but I'm still expecting progress to be slow and more issues with a new account. But you've got to persist if you want to make the money.

It is still a good idea to operate a few accounts and rotate sales OP...good for future operations in CASE you decide to go bigger
