I do this on my Samsung Galaxy S4. Just make sure you turn off images/beacons (which I think is automatically off on iPhones) and do not click on any links.

I have my stealth GMail accounts on my S4 and just use it to read emails. I reply when I get home on my PC.

Thanks,do i turn the images and beacons off from the gmail site itself?

Also before clicking on mail for it to refresh your mail do you turn ur WiFi off so its on 3G or does this not matter when just viewing emails?

Yes. On Gmail, there is an option under settings to "option to turn off downloading all external images / data" ... select the turn off option and then, save settings.

Also on your GMail App on your phone, there should be an option for Download Attachments. Uncheck this box. Leaving the box checked will auto download attachments, so it's best to uncheck this option.

Also I suggest to read through these old posts, as similar members have offered their advice on using iPhone w/ GMail.

I am not 100% certain about the wifi or 3G matters. Someone else may be able to confirm. I know turning off images/beacons is a must.

Gmail doesnt share the IP in majority of cases from all the posts here and my own experience so can be set up to have e-mail forwarded to it.

@rsot, thanks....I thought that was the case (GMail not sharing IP), but always best to hear others confirm.

Also consider the iphone app "ibismail", great little app for adding your emails.
