Hello, can someone help me with the following please:

1. When do I link a new stealth account to paypal? Do I attach it straight after opening the account or do I wait until I am ready to list an item?

2. Increasing selling limit from 10/25, recently it's been taking me to page to verify my name & address, I follow the process & it loads for a few seconds & comes back telling me to have a letter/pin sent to my address! Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong as stealth accounts I opened months ago didn't have this issue when requesting a higher seller allow ance.

I link the PP to the EB as soon as I make it

To get the increase from 10 to 25 you usually just need to link your PP with a bank account and verify it.

Thank you for the response. I always make the ebay after the PP is fully verified. Any ideas why I can't get the increase? Does eb do a credit check like PP?

Neither EB or PP do a credit check. They do a check on the electoral roll, this only has a baring on lifting the EU £1900 limit though.

There is a fault on the EB site atm, which means its not always coming up with the 'link to veriffied PP' options. Give it a few days and try agian

Had the letter sent to a few of my accounts but they have been doing that for a while, I think it was after google started it a couple of years ago.
The letter comes to the address and you just add the pin to your account and most of them have jumped from 10 to 100.

This depends what type of ebay account you create. The letter with PIN is the "norm" on business accounts. On personal accounts, it happens about 1 in every 100 accounts (well that's the ratio I have experienced).

Never opened a business account so I must just be unlucky.

I have a theory that it may be postcode related. Were all your accounts created under a similar postcode?

The last time I got a letter / PIN when requesting higher limits, I created a completely different stealth account at a similar postcode and it got the same letter / PIN request.

I'd be interested to hear what your experience is.

yeah I always stay in my own area, so the post code could be the link.

These types of thing are never random so it would make sense that certain postcode groups are selected for the PIN / letter.

Interesting, not ever noticed this, but its been a very long time since I have had a PIN needing to be sent to the address

The accounts are personal & spread around a large geographical area. Do I request a higher limit soon as I've listed the first item or do I list all 10 then try?

Your best off (IMO) only reguesting higher seller limits when you have got the bank account verified on PP and you have been selling for at least a month

I only ever make an EB account once the PP has a bank account attached & a VCC. If it helps I usually list the first item after 2 weeks of browsing/bidding/messaging. I will try requesting a month after the first sale.
