New phone number..
 

I have just joined up due to ebay wrongly deciding against me selling due to a seller not happy with how long an item took, as well as a few other little issues, but nothing really worth me getting suspended. (familiar story right).

Right, on with the new!

I need to start a new account..

A lot of info but it has to be a simple case of

New IP
New paypal
New phone number

Right??

I use TOR browser, but not all the time, if I set up on TOR and use say firefox in the future will this cause an alarm and get me thrown off?

I need a new number, how do I do this online? I heard there are sites where you can obtain a free number to put into paypal or ebay?

Anything else I should be considering?

You will likely need a new bank account and new card to go with said new PP account. Also consider the address situation.

You need to thoroughly clean your computer although eBay are not as clever it just covers the base to be sure. For Amazon its a must!

Cannot use TOR for stealthing.

Look at resetting your router to see if it generates a new IP, if that fails then look at dongles or phone tethering.

New number - Buy a prepaid phone sim card - I use Vodafone myself.

You need to also have new bank accounts, new address, new DOB, new name, new user account ect

So would need a new handset also?

So DOB, name, address etc, its just a case of 'making these up'??

What does a thorough clean constitute, please?
What can Amazon see that eBay don't?

I'd just like to be on the safe side and be thorough and do more than clear out cookies and change IP

OK so no TOR. I got that one.

Do I definitely need to get a new number? Can you somehow get one online? Like an online number? Because I can't really afford a new handset.

I am on a MAC. So would you suggest a new user account as a start?

If I can't use TOR, whats the best way? At home, to just plug the router out and back in? It's so confusing!

Can't believe it's this hard to get back on. ****ing ebay!

I got a pay as you go simcard and gonna get a cheap handset. Seen alcatel phones for £15 on ebay... anything cheap under £20 anyway

I'm on a mac-mini. I think the same principle applies as for pc. My understanding is that the various user accounts are not to confuse one account to another, thereby keeping the loging-in and browsing history integrity per account intact. I was wondering whether dedicating browsers per account would achieve the same end, but that's not been confirmed for me yet. I think the danger there would be of getting mixed up; whereas a separate user account is a definite boundary between one and another account; ergo, safer.

Having said that, I plan, initially anyway, of just getting going with one account, in which case its just a matter of clearing out the cookies and creating a fresh account.

As for Tor: we are not trying to be anonymous, but simply not to be associated with an account that's been suspended/terminated. Hence, cleaning out of cookies and change of IP. So, we need to change IP and then carry on using a regular browser which builds up history with ebay/pp , which will build up trust. Correct me anyone if I'm wrong anyone. I need to re-read the guide on how to change IP. I've heard some people say that depending on router, they can get a new IP each time they turn the router on and off.
In other instances we have to go into the router (192.168.0.1) and tweak the mac numbers, after which turning the router on and off should produce a new IP. But, haven't figured that which mac numbers to tweak to this end.
Also, apparently by writing these down we can go back to an old IP and thereby control which IP we use. Again, i have no experience with that.


Yup, it's a pain all this stealth palava. Wish we didn't have to, but, what choice have we got? :s
