No set rules.

They increase when the increase.

Next increase could be anything from an extra 100 to an extra 1500.

Sell to max and the increase will eventually come.

I have seen its best not to call ebay in general when using stealth accounts.

Does that also apply to using the live chat to ask to increase them?

It is best not to attract unwanted attention with stealth accounts.
thanks

Just avoid talking to eBay at all.

Let the automated system give you the increase.

The less attention you draw to the account the better.

I'm in the same position, business acc, 100/ 3500, waiting for an increase. I think it's been 4 months for me so far, I'm selling non-vero items, have very good DSR's and no negatives - I think I might gain the top rated status today after the review. Hitting the 3500 limit each month but not the quantity limit. Really hoping I get an increase soon.

How long have you been stuck at 100/ 3500?

I heard in another thread that ebay only increase limits on business accounts when you call them now. Can anyone confirm or deny?

A client of mine was told this very thing by an eBay rep within the last week. The problem is that you can place very little reliability on anything eBay rep's tell you on the phone.

The problem for me then is deciding how long to wait before accepting this to be the case and taking the risk of calling for a raise.

I called up for my initial raise and didn't have any problems but perhaps going from 100/ 3500 to a higher limit will incur a greater level of scrutiny or information requests.

Can anyone else chime in here? Anyone had an automatic raise on a business account recently?

I'd be interested to here this too.

The three business accounts that I use are around 4 years old and therefore don't have selling limits.

No selling limits what so ever?

John have had this account for like more than a year i would say.

When i changed it to a business account these were the limits.

I would wait it out to be honest.

Worst case you ask them and they realise something doesnt seem right and you run into problems.

Im not sure whether they can do it via live chat instantly or whether they submit your case to raise the limits.

Please let me know when yours are raised regardless of when it is.

Thanks

Still wondering if anyone is able to shed some light on whether automatic raises apply to business accounts nowadays.

Apologies for bumping this thread but I will have to make my own thread to ask this topic if not as the answer to this question is pretty important to me.

I have not had increases for about 3 months on my business eBay account, but they all have very high limits so I infrequently hit the selling limit.

Hmm OK thanks to both of you. Perhaps you could let me know what you would do in my situation:

My account is stealth but the address is real as I made the new account when I moved into my new house.

It's 6 months old.

I am selling used items which are non-Vero.

I phoned up to get my limit lifted before and it was raised to 100/ 3500. I have been hitting the £3500 limit with about 40 items sold for the past 3 or 4 (can't remember) months.

I have no negative feedbacks, 1 neutral, 4.9, 4.9, 4.9, 5 for my DSR's and I just got TSR 3 days ago.

I should also note that I do a lot of buying on this account, I have spent more on purchases than I have done in sales but I don't know if this makes a difference.

So, my situation now is that I want my limits to be higher but I only really want this one account which is with my real address. Reason being that due to the nature of the items that I sell, I sometimes have to accept returns and as my average item value is around £100, I need access to the physical address.

This leaves me with the question of whether perhaps I'm close to another increase, or whether it will never happen and I should just risk calling them again for an increase.

I would say your best option would be to look into rent-able mail boxes / mail forwarding and open more stealth accounts. This allows you to accept returns.

Let the limits increase on the first account naturally. Build up other stealths in the mean time.

Stealth is about spreading risk, at the moment you have just 1 account so if that goes you have a limit of 0 a month.

Yes I thought this might be my only option for real safety, it's going to be more complicated but I suppose I should bite the bullet.

It would still be nice to find out whether my limits actually will increase on this business account though.

mbe / mailboxes allow post box rental and give a street address, royal mail offer mail forwarding, a little expensive I find though

OK stupid question but assuming I made another stealth, would I use a random stealth address and just input an MBE address every time I have a return?

You would use the rented mail box or forwarding address you have.

Ah OK, I wasn't sure if it was possible to make an ebay account with just a mail box or forwarding address.

you can use another address but normally returns are low anyway, if low cost item better to just refund them rather then pay for an another address. Weigh up possible amount of returns to cost of mailbox and think if its worth dealing with the returns.

Also remember if buyer pays for return freight it may lead to a negative feedback as no buyer likes this

MBE offers multiple names for each mailbox rental with them, do you think it would be possible to make a number of stealths with different names with the same MBE address?

You want to make each stealth look at different as possible, so using the same address for them all would not be a good idea.
