Default Told no natural selling limit increase anymore??

Hi guys,
Just logged into one of my accounts and thought I'd have a go at getting a selling limit increase.
My current limit is 100/£3500 so did what I normally do and opened up the live chat to ask for an increase. I was told that because it's a business account I HAVE to phone up and discuss an increase with them and was also told that there is no longer a natural increase like there used to be, it's on 100/£3500 until you phone in

I'm not too bothered and I'm quite happy to phone in, just wondering if it's a known thing that there's apparently no natural raises on business accounts with the 100/£3500 limits?

This is contrary to my experience.

I have had non-business stealth account limits rise beyond in recent times.

May be some others can also chime in with their recent experiences with selling limits on personal accounts?

There are natural raises - what you did by chatting and asking for a limit is risky...glad you didnt have issues but just keep building the account

The OP is talking about business accounts, not personal ones. Personal accounts still get limit increases. He is saying he was told that business accounts only get limit increases by phoning in.

I have also heard this rumour but unsure as to how valid it is.

There was a thread about this around a month ago suggesting the same thing RE business account. It may well have other experiences on it if you hunt it down.

Have you had organic growth over the £3500 limit though? The account has had organic growth up to the £3500 limit but doesn't seem I can get it any higher without phoning in as discussed with the Ebay guy in live chat.
If you've had organic growth over the 3.5k limit that's great news though.

With regards to risking my account by going to chat and asking for a raise.. It's something I've done time and time again with no issues and 90% of the time I do get a raise out of it. But that said I don't treat my accounts like most on here, I'm balls out from the start I sell to my allowances from day one. I don't like to tip toe around ebay, in my personal experience if it's going to be a strong account it will be from the start. Seems to serve me well

All my accounts are Business Accounts.

The CS Rep is telling Porkies.

It's all about control, EBay are obsessed about micro-management.

One of my main aims I am focusing on is never having to call either EBay or Paypal again.

I have far better things to do.

And there are many examples on here of why you should never call in.

It is too risky.

Yes as I never ring in to lift limits.

If I need to sell more, I open more accounts and spread sales around.

Can you confirm then that you have had limit increases on any of your business accounts in the last two months. Thanks.

A few small increases, nothing serious.

For a while now I have heard the story of CS saying there are no automated increases on Business Accounts.

I don't buy it.

Quite rightly so.

I am still getting limit raises on my business accounts on a regular basis.

The only thing I would say is that I get the impression that they seem to be gearing any increases in line with the new seller performance standards that are being introduced fairly soon i.e. the better your performance is below the new guidelines the quicker and higher the increases seem to be.

Just my observations on my own accounts.

I posted a thread about this over a month ago, I made over 10 accounts in September half personal accounts and half business accounts and to this day I've not had one natural increase on any of my business accounts but multiple increases on my personal accounts.

I went on the online ebay chat on one of the business accounts and spoke to someone who then increased my limits to 100-£1000, and they said I could of contacted them earlier and when I said i presumed it would go up automatically they said to me that's not the case anymore on business accounts and that i need to contact them to request an increase, as they have a new specialized team now dealing with increases for business accounts, they then said i can contact them in 30 days to request another increase but through online chat they can only lift limits to 100, so all future requests I must phone them.

I have since called twice without any problems and got an increase from 100-£1000 to 300-£4000 and today I called and ended up chatting with the rep for 15 mins about last nights derby game as he seen i was from Manchester and asked am I from the blue side and he said he was a Newcastle fan, call couldn't of gone any better spoke more about the football than eBay and then he gave me an increase to 1000-£6000

Also not getting any natural limit increases on business accs. Have to call up every time and they will double each time, my highest one now being 300/£22,000 with three others at 500/£17,500.

Personal's get way more natural increases IMO

"Natural limit" increases can take time on Business Accounts.

When my primary account hit TRS, the limits doubled.

That was about a year after starting.

Is it best to keep your account as personal then? Even if it is your business?

I don't quite understand why personal ones get increases without requesting but business don't. I have a business account and my limit is 100 items which isn't enough. When you call in to request more, what should I expect them to ask me?

Also is it okay to run a business on a personal account?

I agree.

Talk is cheap.

Let ebay put their claims in writing. Making urban myths is annoying.

Meanwhile we can go on selling and getting increases naturally.

you need to have a better understanding of ebay given you are now stealth.

You have go go slowly and avoid getting attention to your account.
We mentioned in another thread using your Dad's info was risky. Business accounts can get flagged quicker than personal.

Seriously, patience and going slow works long term for stealth.
