Default UK bank that allows sub accounts?

I read in one of Donald's emails that he was able to open up sub-accounts from a single bank (to use with PP). I looked at the bank and it's only available to US citizens.

Is there something similar for us folks in the UK?

Rbs you can open a basic account. Once that is opened you can then open an ISA. Then you can also open a saver account. Meaning you can open 3 eBay seller accounts / paypals.

RBS is ideal.

You can, and you should, avoid savers though. ISA accounts should be avoided at all costs.

RBS will allow you to open basic accounts after you have opened your first bank account.

Good Luck.

Why should the ISA be avoided at all costs ??

Most banks allow you to open four or five accounts, but you may find that you wil be downgraded to what ever their variation of cash (bottom) Account is after four.

Odd one happened the other day when I opened a bank of Scotland account and when I signed into halifax to look at my accounts the bank of scotland account was showing up with the other halifax accounts. So not sure what happens when i ask for more of them as I already have five Halifax accounts.

Never used saving accounts and been told on here it is a pain as you have to use two due to them not having direct debit. So it made no sense to me.

Could you use a savings account to get your 180 money back from paypal?

It would free up hanging onto unusable accounts.

If anyone is going into a bank in the near future could they ask if it would be possible to do a switch on a single account when a person has a group of them at the other bank?

From a Halifax current account you can open 4 online savers, which can also be closed online should the pp account go down, then you can open another one and so on, same with nationwide and natwest, although with natwest you need to go in branch to close an online saver

They tend not remove savers when the dd mandate gets rejected anymore. Instead they send an email telling you the account cannot be used as a funding source.

Santander is great the basic saver accounts you get two cards with two account number which means two stealth PayPals + eBay's with 1 bank account!

I thought you could only use the main bank account for PayPal on the Santander basic account? The second account that you use for day to day spending doesn't accept direct debits if I remember rightly?
