Default eBay account set up fiasco - Maestro Card

I cant believe this, I have been trying to help a friend set up a new eBay account and even with all new / legitimately his own details its become impossible!

My friend has a Maestro debit card which although eBay states is not suitable for paying their monthly fees, they do say that Maestro cards can be used for verification purposes. However when my friend has tried to use his Maestro debit card for verification after selecting the options for Maestro card and filling in his details when he has submitted the card verification page it has come up with a new page stating the card is not suitable and to use another type of card! WTF?! Does anyone know anything about eBay / Maestro cards?

thanks!

Johnny

dont be so frustrated.. maestro cards simply dont work on ebay its not just now its like this from the start.. y not try another alternative?? use visa electron if u have it works fine.. if it still dont work goto post office and grab a pre paid debit card.. make sure it has couple of pounds for verification.. cheers

If it has an option for a switch card thn try putting in the maestro details under the switch card category. Have a go and see if it works
