flashy ebay stire designs, are they wirth it?

OK so I keep getting these emails from people saying they can design a nice flashy eBay store for me.

I have two questions.

1. Has anyone done this and does it really make much difference with regards to sales?

2. I assume I'll have to give them my username and password for them to do it?

Thinking on it, might just be easier to do it myself but I would be interested on any opinions.

Read somewhere that 75% of all sales on ebay now are via their phones/tablets so your auction needs to be phone and tablet friendly.

Yes list everything that needs to be done, but keep it clean, simple and easy to understand.

So list it and then check it on your phone see how easy it is to read.

Plane jane gets less complaints and less questions but fancy pages get more office workers buying durring the day. This is due to the vast majority of mobile device sales these days. A couple years ago it exceeded 75% like CCJay said. Maybe be closer to 100% now.

A nice looking shop design will encourage users to browse your shop and may lead to more sales.

A hate it when a design is too complicated. It puts me off. I like the notion 'less is more'

If you think it will lead to more sales then try it out. You can always change it again if it doesn't make a difference.

I've never had 'flashy' designs. People buy what they want.

OK good advice, think I'll give it a go then and see what happens, certainly don't think my listings are particularly mobile friendly so need to sort that out.
