Default Returns farce

I can't believe this! Just got a return for a £6.00 item because the nozzle is a bit stiff! How the hell do you overcome this? I'm about ready to pack it in altogether

Just part of doing bussiness.

£6 should be easily absorbed and you may be able to resell the item as used to recoup most your costs.

I'm not worried about the money, in fact on the occasions when I get a request for a refund I always let them keep the goods anyway. What worries the life out of me is my DSR's

Provide good customer service and the customer should still leave good feedback and good DSR.

That's not the issue:

When a buyer requests a return and checks the box for reason as defective.

Guess What The seller gets a defect.

Buyers are automatically checking the defective box (regardless of the true reason) because sellers that have opted into the "returns process" have to pay the return shipping.

This whole defect thing is a SHAM for sellers trying to keep their TRS status or their accounts in good standing.

Analyze your product line and determine if it's worth the hassle to keep selling it

Problem is people just invent a reason just to return an item. I got someone message me yesterday these exact words "Hi, I ordered XXXXXXXXXXXX from you on the 13th Sept for my Son. Unfortunately I bought the wrong game. It has been sent back to you. Can I please have a refund for this. Thankyou"

Which translates to I bought this, used it and because i'm a cheap ******* I will send it back to you and repeat the process. It wouldn't be so bad if she said "can i", but no she already decided to send it back without asking anything even though it's passed 30 days. I messaged her and she hasn't even replied to me, and I have received nothing.

If it is returned, then I can just sell it no problem, but she could at least think of a better excuse than "I bought the wrong one" 30+ days later.
