Hi I am looking for advice please. A ebayer has contacted me for the first time claiming their item is lost after 2 months! Usually I deal with situations promptly. However I am guessing they are after a refund, due to length of time and I have no more items of that left.
I know it is to late to open a claim in ebay, but I feel they have left it too late for me to just refund. However now paypal are open to claims after 180 days, will I be still expected to refund? I just feel 2 months is too far along to be reasonable and they should have contacted me sooner.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
I've accepted at long last that the buyer ALWAYS wins and I refund immediately in an attempt to avoid it going through eBay. I also tell the buyer to keep the item but, then again, my products rarely go above £20. If it's a lost parcel, however, P2G have tracking numbers and I even got a REFUND from them last week! If the value isn't too high I would pay up and move on.

Sorry to gatecrash....but doesnt the 180 day returns policy only start from payments made from November 18th
Hmmmm
If you sent it tracked just double check it arrived if it did make the buyer aware that it has arrived thus any refund is out of the question
If it wasn't tracked and your using a stealth account just issue a refund you may loose out on some money but a case against you will bring un-wanted attention onto your account
Welcome to the forums OP - sadly PP has been known to open claims this late...take necessary steps as suggested by other posters above, to protect yoursefl

How was the item sent? with or without tracking?
Monetary value of said item? Consider a refund to protect your account provided the amount is not too high.

Thanks for the replies. It wasn't tracked and it was £15.95. Not much but I guess I felt defiant over this one. I will bite the bullet and do the honourable thing...
