Default Funding your PayPal payments

I got a email today from paypal saying "your bank has let us know that you can't use your bank account to fund PayPal payments. If you already have a card linked to your PayPal account, we'll use it to fund your future payments"

I got this email after trying to withdraw some money to my bank account, i did it on over 5 working days ago and it's still pending

is this a bad thing?

Santander, eSaver.

Thinking of it now, it's because the bank account does not get issued with a long card number so it would't be possible to use it for payments but I'm a bit worried about the huge delay

It just means the direct debit mandate has been turned down.

Can still be used for withdrawals.

Yeah it was, I added the account and was promoted to go through the direct debit thing, after searching the forums I realized it wouldn't be any trouble so I proceeded to agree to it

Can you see direct debit setted up in your bank account? if not then it means its not been set up. hence you got problem. And usually you can not set up direct debit in a saving account.
