I'm pretty sure you sign up using your own details, for obvious reasons, but you can choose multiple names usually and set it up as a business name or what ever your needs are.

Mailbox rental company needs your real details to open the box BUT they should be able to receive mail in different names/business name

So I don't need any ID for other/business names added to the account

Most mail forwarding companies will not allow mail / items in a different personal name. They usually ask for ID for all people's names receiving items.

The way to get round this:-

1. Set up and use BUSINESS ebay accounts. After all you are acting as a business if you are buying items to resell.

2. Create a business name eg VERO Trading

3. Sign up with mail forwarding company in your REAL name. Tell them you would like to receive items for your company name: VERO Trading. You might have to pay more but this will not be a problem and no additional ID will be required. If it is, you explain you are a sole trader and have no company documentation - only personal.

4. Add the mail forwarding company details as a RETURNS / DELIVERY address ONLY. This is assuming you are doing this for an ebay account that is already set up under a different address.

VERO Trading
MAIL FORWARDING ADD1
MAIL FORWARDING ADD2
COUNTY
POST CODE

Remember as well the mail forwarding company can be anywhere in the UK. It does not have to be near either your real address or the stealth address on the account.

Once you sign up with a company that offers this service, sometimes they allow number of different business/personal names to be used. The more you pay, the more names you can use. So instead of just having ONE business name, you might have 5.
Mailboxes I believe have that sort of a system as well, where they can accept multiple different names per address.
It's all about how much money you are willing to pay.

Sorry if I'm being an ignoramus, but don't these companies offer the same address to hundreds of companies?
Surely someone with a banned account might be registered with them... creating a link?

That's why you only use the mail forwarding company as a returns and delivery address on ebay. I would never register an ebay account at one of these addresses for that very reason.

Are you saying then that as a returns or a delivery address it doesn't create a link if someone else has used that mailing address.

I'd beg to differ if that's the case.

As a returns or delivery address Ebay will accept the mail forwarding address is what Ebayorbust was saying blueuk, as long as it is not used as a main account address there will not be a problem. Everyone needs some sort of returns address these days and this way is as good as any for people who cannot use a friend or relatives address that had been used previously on a suspended account.

Delivery address could be for 1000 people working at a large call centre somewhere, I don't think it's as much of a linking issue really.

The mail forwarding place I used let you specify what names you wanted mail to that address, I think you could name 3 names, then they charge more for each additional name. Saying that, they never did forward any mail, so not sure if they were any good. Don't get anything sent that's valuable to them until you test them out.

Listen to ebayorbust, he knows his stuff!

Hello guys !

I think I might have got stealth totally wrong???

I was under the assumption that you got a mail forwarding address and that was the address you used for your stealth.

But its soundalike the feedback on this post is not that.

I am confused , so you pay for a mail forwarding address , and use that for a returns or delivery address.

So what do you put as your ebay and PP address ? Not the same as the mail forwarding ?

So you whole have 2 addresses for each stealth?

Sorry if this is a stupid question ..

Thanks for the post byronwells

If your banned residential address is 15 high road, london, n1 1st or you use a publicly available mailbox rental with the address 282 main street, manchester, m1 1as they are both exactly the same.

Except probably your banned residential address will have had less accounts burned than the mailbox.

Adding simply as a returns or a delivery address is no different than using as a registered address nowadays.

4-5 years ago you could get away with the delivery address of a banned address and wouldn't be auto linked. Now that isn't the case.

So what address do you register your account with?
I was under the impression you should use a virtual one ie a mail forwarding service...

This is all confusing!

With regards to address linking it is not as straight forward as an address getting "burned" and then it cannot be used ever again. Unfortunately nobody is privy to this information as it is will only be known by a few individuals that program the software which links accounts.

We do know that timescales are involved but there will be other factors.

I would certainly not use any widely known mail forwarding company in any capacity. For the ones that I would use, I would not register the ebay account at that address but would add it as a returns / delivery address only as this is what it was being used for.

There is no method for address selection that is guaranteed to be risk-free as any real address could have been recently banned without our knowledge. People will share what has worked and not worked for them but as no one knows the exact parameters used to link accounts via address it is all "best guessing".

they ask for id.

does the road you live on link you to all your neighbours? no of course not... the name and door number/house name differs, so it is the same with the box.

you can have a name and a business name at least on most boxes, and you can pay for more options. An idea is a variation of the name and business name, they accept that usually, a you do not get penalised for an apparent slip-up by sender....I would not push it too far though....these boxes know that their money is made from ebay users but just try and be reasonable about it....

Personally I try and stay clear of virtual , mail forwards and all that, leaves too much to chance for my liking , plus some of my items are quite large.

I look locally.
trust me here is always a cheap unit or small office space, my last place was a small in door unit in the local market for 28quid a week, before that I used to pay a green grocer to take my collections for 15£ a week, before that it was a plasters unit where he stored plaster boards and stuff, gave me a key for £20.00 a week, now I have a office space where I come and go for £30.00 a week.

looking local and speaking to real people around your area can produce good results.

I live in a remote village so big tows and city's could only be easier .

So if I buy a Stealth Ebay & Paypal Account they will already have an address registered on them? Correct?

Then all I would need is the Mailing box for returns, and delivery??

OK guys just seen this thread so just a couple of thoughts, your input welcome.

Sometimes in stealth, it is possible an account or multiple accounts may get limited for many, many reasons. It is by nature an occupational hazard in our game.

Now if we use a mailbox or equivalent with an address like suite 46, 74 Edworth Road, London SW17 8QT and we have, say, 3 or 4 stealth accounts using that as a delivery/returns address then if one of those accounts gets limited are we saying we can, or cannot, continue using that mailbox address for the 2 or 3 remaining accounts?

Secondly, If we were to use a rented office, is there a practical limit to the number of companies that can run out of that one place? So say I rent 4a Walker Place for £200/month is it practical to in effect create your own virtual office and have 20 stealths running from addresses like suite 1, 4a Walker Place. Suite 2 , 4a Walker Place. Suite 3, 4a Walker Place, etc., etc..?
