Having trouble with a return which ebay have just closed the case for in buyers fav.
 

Ebay have closed a case for an item that has not been delivered. I've checked the tracking and it is Abit confusing. I've also been to my local pdo today and they didn't have anything for me.

The track details are as follows. (I have blanked out my location just for piece of mind)

Says delivered on 2nd line down. I would make contact with them and appeal it, they do this all the time. Can you request a copy of the delivery signature?

Delivered on April 30 at 10:07...is it the correct spot that it was intended for?

Hi. The sorting office it was delivered from is correct. It says delivered at 10.07, then out for delivery at 10,37. I em definitely don't have the item and I there is no signature online. Abit worried as the item was worth £180.

No it is not delivered yet.
Came into the depot & got sent out again within 45 minutes.... it's in transit.
Sad thing we dont know where yet.

Hi. It was a returned item that was sent special delivery. I don't have the proof of postage, the buyer/returner should have it.

It says delivered. Sometimes the systems go in different orders as the scan updates face wireless traffic. Happens a fair bit these days with the volume of parcels carriers are taking.

So it is probably delivered, and not in transit, unfortunately because of this late updates on the tracking the robots at eBay have decided its still in transit.

Can you not get an online delivery signature? Special Delivery tracking number can be entered online and the signaure will come up

Ok just got off the phone with ebay. They say it was delivered but I said it hadn't arrived and now they say they will contact rm on Monday and let me know then. Abit concerned now because if rm confirm it's delivered it's going to be my word against there's. Any suggestions guys?

eBay will contact RM for you? That must be a new thing they do now, unless they are telling fibs. Is this an eBay managed return? that would explain it...

I hate managed returns. You might get lucky, they are fairly good at refunding when its through their system, and at the end of the day there will not be a signature online to confirm delivery, so I think you just have to sit tight and see what happens, then tackle it when they make a final judgement.

Scammers have found the click and collect option a great area to say they have never collected the item, eBay refunds them straight away and the seller isnt held to blame.

Hi. It was basically the buyer opened a case to return for item not as described. I responded with return address. A while went by but I didn't recieve the item, buyer messages me saying they sent it special delivery a while ago and gave me the tracking number which I checked and got the results in post number 1. I didn't refund as I hadn't recieved yet. eBay stepped in and refunded the buyer. So now I'm left without the item or money, all while it's showing as delivered/on delivery for the last couple if days.

Ebay are not going to ring Royal Mail for you buddy, then bluffed to get you off the phone.

You probably also ended up with a defect for eBay closing a case.

That also looks like really odd tracking for RM Special Delivery, Ive never seen that before and I send all my parcels with RM Recorded and Special, maybe its different in Scotland than England.

What does the signature show?

Hi. I'm in England the parcel came from Scotland. There is no signature visible just this info.

When I phoned the lady said 1 minute let me put you on hold whole I ring rm and chase this up with them/request details of what number it was posted to etc. then came back and said they are closed today and would do it in Monday and be in touch with me via phone or email. I thought it sounded Abit odd as I've rang rm before and they are utterly useless, so unless ebay have a special number to call which takes them direct to a special department who they deal with directly within rm. That's the only thing I can think of.

Its an eBay lie. You will need to call them again on Monday.

So, you put your royal mail tracking number into the royal mail website and thats what it gave you? Special Delivery HAS to have a signature, they are very strict about it with their staff.

Was this a managed returned?

You are being a bit confusing about things, try to be clearer.

Hi. Is a managed return when they print the return label off? If so, no it wasn't that. It was just sent back by buyer for a refund after they opened a return request for item not as described.

And yes, there is definately no signature and this is the info I get when checking it.

Yes its a managed return when they print the label - how do you know they didnt print the label? eBay use RM and Collect+. Buyers know if they print the label the return is free to them, so I am not sure why they have sent it to you by the most expensive RM service off their own back. But it could be a managed return, this is the only plausible reason why the eBay rep said they would check on Monday. (but still think it was just a bluff)

If there is no signature, then eBay have made an error (pretty standard really!). So contact them again explaining that to the rep. You might need to try a couple of times to get a better rep. I have found email customer services are reasonable for cases like this, so try that also, it takes them up to 72 hours to reply.

But remember calling eBay is a risk to Stealthers, so weigh up what the item means to you.

Thats all you can do, no further advice can be given at this stage now.

Hi it's a legit account so I'm not worried about anything on that front I know it's not a managed return because the amount refunded was the amount paid, no extra charge for postage or anything. The reason they must have sent sd is due to the value of the item (180£)

Anyway thanks for all your help and il definitely ring them back Monday-Tuesday to chase this up and bring up the fact that there is no signature and the tracking seems to be inconsistent. Thanx again.

Im not sure you understand managed returns - the amount gets added to your ebay fees for labels printed.

You can ring them now to be honest, it will make no difference waiting till Monday, unless it was a managed return, which i suspect it is.

Hmmm. Just looked at my latest invoice and no charge there for delivery. Also just seen I've gotten a defect for a case escalated to ebay. My first one ever! Really need to sort this.
