eBay Refund buyer on there behalf but funds get took from my account!!

Hello *******

A case has been opened because the buyer has an issue with an item purchased from you. We reviewed the case and have decided to issue the buyer a refund of £**** without any impact to you. The refund includes the purchase price plus original postage & packaging.

This case is now closed. You aren't required to reimburse the buyer or eBay and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation.

This i the message I get often when buyers that don't win the case but eBay decide to refund them anyway. Well up until now I thought they did. Just checked a few closed cases and looks like eBay are not refunding them its me who is but on the case it says eBay decided in my favour. Surely something's not right here has anyone been in the same situation?

Have you checked the original transaction on PayPal? In my experience, PayPal puts a hold on a transaction when a case is opened. Then the hold is removed if they find in your favor. I cannot recall ever seeing a new transaction for that, I think they just remove the hold. But, my experience with this is limited. Hopefully someone else will chime in. But I would still check the original PayPal transaction.

Just contact them and they will see the error and refund you.

Quite simple really.

Its up to you whether you feel the amount is worthy of contacting eBay though under your Stealth guise.
