Seller Sent ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Item, Best Way To Get Refund
 

Hi Guys,

I purchased an item on ebay which when delivered was ⊗⊗⊗⊗. I've contacted the seller a few times and had no joy. I paid via paypal.

First time I've had this happen as a buyer. What the best way of getting my money back?

If the the seller does not cooperate then a ebay/paypal dispute.

Same way buyers handle us sellers.

I've tried twice mate. They won't reply.

As a seller I know what it's like when someone opens a claim without contacting you first. The thing is the item is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and the seller won't reply. They had excellent feedback as well.

Looks like I'm going to have to open a claim.

Yep, claim is the next step here. If they still do not repsond get eBay involed and they will be able to get it solved for you

With the seller not responding it has GUILTY written all over it unless you only wrote to him today? As most people are not logged in 24/7.

You bought item from ebay and paid by PP?
Or you bought and paid only using PayPal?
Money was send as services and goods? or family,friends?

Try opening dispute if seller doesnt reply and provide pictures to PayPal aswell, they have a section once dispute is open, you can upload anything to win this case.

eBays a funny place.

People love to be phakes at the rock bottom prices, until something goes wrong with it, then they dont like phakes.

First, contact the seller via PM. If seller does not answer in 48 hours, open a dispute and you will get your money back.

Also, I dont like the whole load of advice as 'open' a case, as we all know the defect policy is made to break people, so why would you do that?

Was the item actually advertised as a certain brand?

What was the price? if its 1/4 less than the retail cost or something, you knew you where buying a phake, being a member on here, means it ain't your first rodeo and you know full well how to get your money back!

How long has the seller not responded for?

I would allow one more message stating that you will open a case if no reply is made. This is a fair warning before the defect system gets involved.

I suggested to contact the seller first. If he ignores PMs or refuses to solve the issue in any way that will satisfy buyer, then the case should be opened. I am strictly against opening cases if the seller tries to do his best to solve the issue.

I do agree that opening a case should always be the very last resort only after you have given the sellers a few days to respond. Sometimes the only thing left is a case though

The item was described as authentic.

It was a a medium price the item is worth.

Yes, it was advertised as a certain brand.

I have messaged them 3 times over 4 days and no response.

The way I look at it is, if you knowingly sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗, you deserve everything that gets thrown at you. Even more so if you won't deal with customers concerns. I would of thought they would of wanted to resolve if they are knowingly selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ to keep ebay out of it.

It's sellers like this that put buyers off of buying from legit sellers on ebay.

couldn't agree more. It seems the seller is the only one to blame all the time.
Their are just as many buyers wanted knock off items and rock bottom prices but as soon as they get them, they try their buyer protection nonsense and threaten with ebay resolution.

They know too damn well what they are buying at that price most likely is not the real deal, so personally I don't sympathise with them.

Sellers get screwed trying to please buyers with cheaper prices and still get burnt, however its the odd one or two that have the problem.
Majority accept what they got and even leave you with top feedback.

What about when you purchase something for what it's worth and you're supplied a ⊗⊗⊗⊗?

At the end of the day if something is listed as authentic, then it should be.

Selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ isn't a sustainable way of running a business. It won't last.
