Default When you have friends in PayPal..

I made a post on this earlier, now there is a conclusion

- Zero feedback , joined that day, buyer buys £100 item off me.

- Shipped, delivered to Belgium

- Sends emails in French two weeks later saying it wont fit or something like that. (the pictures he sent shows completely the wrong vehicle, not one that was ever listed on the listing), I offer him to send it back.

-He opens a dispute with PayPal (not ebay - I thought you HAD to use ebay when it was bought on ebay as it says please go to ebay - maybe a new change since the split?)

- Dispute gets escalated to a case in one minute.

- Buyer told to return item and add tracking (he never did this)

- Three days later, dispute closed in buyers favour including original posting costs to Belgium. Unless he boarded a flight himself to bring it over, no chance it could ever of gotten here in two-three days.

- No item, no tracking number, no further contact from buyer on paypal case.

- Case has completely vanished from PP and case history.

I guess it pays to have friends in PayPal unless he has found a massive loophole to exploit.

So be careful, Ive never seen this scam before..

Doubt he has friends at paypal.
Its just the way paypal operates sometimes. Theyre a bunch of dilllholes and there are scammers out there who know this and take advantage of that fact.

PP is a joke, when it comes to things like that.
Deep breath and let it go.
Maybe he/she will use account in future to sell something , then you can get revenge:0

Ive let it go, its just that even with me knowing PP fairly well, he must have some major tricks to manipulate it if he dosen't have a friend in the office.

Lol, he never will Wrightly, hence he joined that day specifically, PayPal and Ebay allow guest memberships while using the same PayPal account to purchase. He could be a Power Seller for all I know, but decided to fleece me.

What a D***. Seriously, this is why i put on restrictions for who can buy my item, like they have to have a verified paypal etc. You should phone up paypal.

Yeah I have ALL the restrictions on, but because they are using verified PayPals and linked to real accounts, it bypasses them.

I think for the loss, its not worth chancing a PayPal Criminal (sorry) Customer Services Rep look into my account.

I've never had any of those cases and every time I read about them, I cringe. Just something that I'd chalk down to "cost of doing business"

I agree we have to chalk it for the cost of doing business...but I still want to go and smash the guy up

I deal with scammers everyday, but never one like this especially with PP doing the things they did. I am still convinced he has a mate in there.

Muzzie didn't know the difference between confirming the address on PayPal and verifying with a bank account earlier on another thread and is now suddenly an expert in winning cases with PayPal.

You dont need no friends in PayPal. You can get any item from eBay for free ... in 3 steps.

1. Buy and item on eBay and pay with PayPal.
2. Wait for it to arrive.
3. Open a PayPap dispute and select the reason as "Item is counterfeit". Then escalate the dispute.

If you read PayPal's terms and conditions you will see they do not require the item to be returned to the seller if its counterfeit. They will also not ask for any evidence.

I had this happen to me a few times. There is no chance to defend against this and the scammer will get away with your item and your money. 100% guaranteed.

Obviously if the scammer is stupid enough to keep repeating this with the same account again and again and enough people report him to the police there is a small chance something will be done.

Interesting , never knew that.

So how do you get around the fact that when trying to open a case with PayPAl, it says as it was an ebay purchase, so open a case with ebay?

Or is that how he did it, use a guest account so you cant open one with ebay? Ive never used a guest account so don't know.

Not really, that is how PP works. They close cases in the favor of the buyer 99% times, as their own time costs much more than an average case, so cheaper to refund than to spend half of day digging the truth about another 99p China garbage. I didn't actually troll them, I just opened 3 identical cases. No evidences nor questions asked, just win and that's all. Of course, from their side, they have a huge case experience, so can judge most of the cases in an instant.

Not quite right and sort of unrelated to what this post is about, but lets leave it at that, you don't make sense on most days, especially not after your cow has been playing around with the local donkey.

Not sure why you cannot.

It is easily done by clicking the link below the golden button "PayPal Claim".

See screenshot I made just now.

Yes, that takes you to ebay and opens an ebay claim does it not?
