As before on the odd occasion depending on how many accounts you were making you would find that you would receive a 0/0 account.
The account would be gifted such low limits due to account creation methods or types of VCC / Gift cards or phone numbers you were using.
Over the past 2 weeks it is becoming more and more frequent. They have now implemented a new verification step for eBay UK. You would of been able to go onto live chat and ask a rep nicely to increase this to 10/650. No more of that.
You now will be told that their new verification procedure is to call into eBay UK Selling Limits Team on the usual phone number. There is a reasonable chance that you will now be asked for further verification..
Depending the type of vcc's / phones etc you use the % may be lower or may be higher.
The 0/0 is now becoming similar to Ebay US and as frequent although they won't be pulling up questions from a database!
Get used to hearing that Irish accent ;) |
| just_smile | 10-01-2015 02:05 PM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Are we are talking about unverified paypal accounts?
If so it's been happening for a while. Since April hit and miss.
If the paypals verified then it's a new one. |
| Callidus | 10-01-2015 02:07 PM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Unverified PayPal's have been going on for yonks.
We're talking VERIFIED PayPals. |
| just_smile | 10-01-2015 02:14 PM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process That sucks. ...
Talking to ebay customer service is like pulling out your teeth. |
| bigdaz | 10-03-2015 11:30 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process yes ive had my account restored via ebay chat but it was then suspended as soon as i listed for some reason |

What questions did they ask you?
I've not run into this problem yet :( |
| peghmeypong | 10-05-2015 05:02 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Yeah I've had a few the same. Very very odd. Seems no rhyme or reason to it.
Had a couple come through with 100/£3500 limits, a few at 10/£650, a couple have 0/0 then got 10/£650 after requesting higher limits through the seller dashboard. One got 0/0 then couldn't raise it. I contacted eBay through chat and thy raised it to 50/£1800 but it was suspended within an hour after that.
The questions were basic - how quick do you post? What are your future plans? Where are your items from? I had another one earlier in the week that got 10/£650 then was restricted (not suspended). I'm about to talk to gem via chat about that one too now. Will update.
Items are almost exclusively used books, never anything risky. All PP are verified with bank and card and linked to eBay. All accounts are three weeks old minimum with browsing and 1 or 2 purchases. Stealth followed to the letter.
I will note that I found last end of September/early October difficult in terms of getting new accounts off the ground too. Making no assumptions or claims, just feels very similar to that. |
| peghmeypong | 10-05-2015 05:49 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Documents requested on the last one. Curiouser and curiouser. |
| JamesNorth101 | 10-05-2015 06:30 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Whenever you phone eBay there is always going to be a chance that they request docs |

| peghmeypong | 10-05-2015 07:11 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process That was over chat rather than phone, but yeah.
Had no option really, 0/0 limits, unable to raise them through the request higher limits html. |
| Callidus | 10-05-2015 07:14 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Request higher limit link works but says it has increased your limits to 0/0 when they were 0/0 anyway. |
| peghmeypong | 10-05-2015 07:24 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process I've had a slightly different experience.
9 times out of 10, I click 'request higher limits', it says your limits have been increased to 0/0 (lol), but then I get an email 10-15 minutes later saying your limits are now 10/£650.
The one time it failed, it asked me to verify another account to raise my limits so I had to contact them.
My advice would be to wait 20 mins before calling in if it says 'your limits have been raised to 0/0'. |
| Callidus | 10-05-2015 07:28 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Already done all that - made loads and loads of them last week and had no experiences like that. Although changing the card I was using pulled up very different results |
| peghmeypong | 10-05-2015 07:33 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process How queer. |

created loads more around same time never had an issue, only this one that had a 0 selling limit put on it |
| richie2065 | 10-06-2015 09:31 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Ive always worked on the understanding that if you are given a 0/0 then your account has been identified high risk due to methos of creation inclusive of bank/CC used, This then doesn't put the account in good health for building.
10/650 should be the standard set up.. IMO |
| Callidus | 10-06-2015 09:34 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Think you've missed point completely. They've started doing 0/0 on the majority of accounts when setting up.
Bank / CC is not a factor in this case. |
| peghmeypong | 10-06-2015 03:29 PM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process re Richie2065's suggestion, all my CC are the same provider and all my banks are high street uk.
In the last fortnight, some accounts get 0/0 then suspended, some get 0/0 then 10/650 when i request it, some get 10/650 straight away, 10% get 50/3500, so I very much doubt it's a CC/bank issue.
Prior to the last fortnight, 95% of accounts got 10/650 and the rest got higher. |
| peghmeypong | 10-07-2015 03:26 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Today exactly half of the seller accounts created got 10/650 and the other half have got 0/0. On the 0/0 accounts, I clicked request higher limits, it said 'congratulations, your allowance is now 0/0' then 10 mins later, got an email increasing limits to 10/650. That was the case for all of them so all accounts now have 10/650 and no need to call in.
Hope this helps someone and it's settling down now. |
| richie2065 | 10-07-2015 07:35 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Maybe just a system glitch then.. whoever is actively making accounts please update forum with progress |
| Haidukken | 10-07-2015 08:04 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Ugh, I hate threads like this... It makes me paranoid, scared and just annoyed in general. Very useful stuff regarding posts guy, much appreciated. Keep the info coming and if you hear anything new or experience a change just keep us posted.
I've not created any account for a month or so, but I actually wanted to get on the wagon tonight. Good thing I noticed the thread, otherwise I would have cried myself to sleep most likely. |
| Callidus | 10-07-2015 08:07 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process 25/£1200 is a nice new limit they love handing out now as well... |
| peghmeypong | 10-08-2015 03:14 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Not seen one of those.
All 10/650 today bar one which has no visible limits yet - another new one for the last fortnight. |
| JamesNorth101 | 10-08-2015 05:42 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process No limits appearing happens pretty often.
Most the time it will be a 10 / £650, but the limit will only show when you are listing items |
| peghmeypong | 10-08-2015 07:50 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process What I'm saying is that it's the first time I've had an account with no apparent limits since a lot of 0/0 started appearing on UK accounts, hence 'for the last fortnight'.
I have listed items, I am aware that limits aren't shown until items are listed.
Thanks. |

Then you will have an extra page called Seller Manager Dashboard, limits are shown there. |

| LOMBOK | 10-14-2015 06:35 AM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process I wanted to test out a Bank of Scotland saver so I created a new eb and pp account about 6 weeks ago and converted it to a seller account last week. Acting new, tried to list an old book and had the request to add the pp to it. Left it a few days and then added it. Tried again and got the 0/0 limit. Left it a couple of days then verified the pp account, went into eb and tried again. Still 0/0 so requested to raise limits using the link. Said I to wait 10 minutes for it all to go through and then got a 10/650 limit. Listed the book on an auction and will put a couple more on later as it's been 2 days. The saver was added in the recommended way. It is a Bank of Scotland Access Saver opened online and had the details immediately on applying. |

my last 3 stealths ive made over the last few days this has happened to me, then i try click "request more limits" and it says "we are still processing last request"
Waited 10 mins and rechecked the accounts and were all 10/650
But this 0/0 is doing my head in now  |
| peghmeypong | 10-21-2015 04:46 PM | Re: New UK eBay Verification Process Virtually all of mine have now settled down to 0/0 initially then 10/650 after I click 'increase my limits' then waiting 10 minutes.
Hope this helps. |
Re: New UK eBay Verification Process had 1 account with zero limits, it seems that I've forgotten to confirm credit card on paypal and created personal eBay account instead of business straight away, one of these errors leaded me to 0/£0.00 limits but after I've fixed my errors and had a chat I've got this fixed to 100/3500 |
Re: New UK eBay Verification Process If you register a business stealth do you automatically get 100/3500? |
