| NotAHappyBunny | 05-04-2011 10:21 PM | Need verification hi
can someone please confirm this for me:
I can open a new bank acc with a bank (that allows deposits in different names) with my real details.
I can open a stealth e b and p;p acc and verify using this real bank acc .
They allow this because they cannot see my details apart from acc and sort #.
Have I got this right?
So I can give e;b and p;p any name and add to create a stealth - do they run any checks?
Thank you all :) |

Thank you all :) | Lot of questions
Yes, yes and I think the only checks they can run are on public data (such as the electoral role)
Hope that helps:yar: |

Yes if your bank allow payments under a different name, you can easily get the two deposits sent to your bank account and verify your account.
PP will only see the info you give them. PP do run checks from what I gather, some people have mentioned Electoral Register and they do run credit checks. Considering most people use bogus details, once you get so far with PP, they require documents to be sent as they cannot find anything about you basically.:D |

yes you are correct apart from the checks they probably do but they will be limited as to what they can search so it probably will only be the electoral roll Quote:

| NotAHappyBunny | 05-09-2011 06:22 PM | Hi
I have a question regarding recent (last 7-8 weeks) p;.p verification.
I know they say "we will deposit 2 samm amounts ...etc"
But, when i did this a short while ago, helping set up someone else's real acc (before stealth was even known to me or indeed needed by me) - they seem to have taken some out too.
Im not 100% sure - im gonna have to look online first - but i distinctly recall the person i helped was confused as she was supposed to have a nice neat multiple of 10 in her acc (plus the small change p;p place in)- but after p;p verification process - this was not the case (ps. there are not lots of dd'd on the acc - none infact).
This may suggect they are also withdrawing a small amount to verify name on acc.
Also, VM have done this to me this week when i applied for a new contract phone - i was making a card payment to pay for the delivery, this resulted in my bank card being frozen by the bank due to suspicious activity (vm took 2 lots of £0.01 within seconds of each other - as well as the £4.99) - they did not inform me of this even though the bank says they definatly should have.
Now this could have been that mandatory credit check - but if they are adopting the same practice - well that only means one thing - bad news. I hope I am not correct!! Please!! |
| saadra | 05-10-2011 09:11 AM | I was under the impression that you could only verify a uk paypal account with a uk bank account. how did you manage to verify your paypal account with just a entropay VCC? Do entropay give you an account number and sort code?
Thanks |
| ShadyOne | 05-10-2011 03:49 PM | ^ You have to have a bank account on file to become verified with PayPal.
Entropay only gives you a credit card number, valid/expiry dates and a security code. It is used for the credit card on PayPal and not as the bank account. |

just to confirm this paypal have refused my bank account with nat west First reserve
they put the money in on my stealth account ok i can see on the statement but they wont sanction the bank
i got this message
"On , we attempted to transfer from your bank account, ending in 3867. This transfer was returned by your bank on 10 Jun 2011 for the reason below:
This is an invalid bank account number.
As a result, this bank account has been disabled from your PayPal account. Please contact your bank for more information or add a new bank account. Please do not contact PayPal because this is entirely an issue between the account holder and their bank.
Yours sincerely,
PayPal"
Note the word "from" my bank rather than too my bank which is like me withdrawing cash from bank into paypal account
the money check went in they couldnt get it out which gives me a problem any solutions??? |
| Alps_a somewhatlegend | 06-17-2011 09:30 AM | nat west First reserve didnt work for me a little while ago... it took the 2 small deposits from pp to verify, then after 1st or 2nd withdrawal I got same message. Not to worry though. |
| thered | 06-17-2011 01:21 PM | i will have to get another any tips please i have 3 at santander 2 are paypal dead now i darent ask for another |
| Alps_a somewhatlegend | 06-17-2011 01:37 PM | ^ u know the first reserve that is no good now, its worth closing it and in a few weeks opening an account with them that is ok with pp.
I sometimes close my accounts in the branch and as I am a friendly one, they all know me and smile and do the do. Try get in their with your local staff!
Most I have banked with have been ok with me playing around as I am not a crook. Some even have enquired what I am up to and in a round about way I let them know and they are ok with it all - I dont be telling them any stelt stories though!
Ask for another.... all they can say is no. As with everything in life.... have something to tell them if they do ask why :) |
A good excuse is that you are worried for the safety of the account and would feel safer with a new account to keep business going with the bank. Having some $ to deposit also helps. |
| ShadyOne | 06-17-2011 04:40 PM | @thered. Open a NatWest Step instead. Basic current account, so will not be rejected by PayPal. |

step is a basic account anyways so it wont be any different |
| ShadyOne | 07-06-2011 05:45 PM | This is a recent change. I haven't looked but I would say that the basic account will still have a DD feature. |

| ShadyOne | 07-09-2011 05:55 AM | ^ Haha, It's not good info tbh :)
I opened a Step account about three to four weeks ago, so that is how I figured it is a recent change lol :yar:
Here is the link for anyone who wants it NatWest Basic Bank Account
And as suspected, it does have a DD feature for those actually interested. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 07:11 AM. | |
