Ok so now it's clear obviously we need to add a bank account to become verified on pp, my question is still remains open:
When I add my bank, I type in the stealth name, however my bank is open on my real name, so then pp ask me to send 2 small deposits to confirm the bank and become verified, when I click confirm bank they ask me to send deposits and there is a field "Account holder name"
THE QUESTION IS WHAT SHOULD I TYPE THERE? MY REAL NAME OR MY STEALTH NAME?
OBVIOUSLY IF I TYPE MY REAL NAME PP CAN HUNT ME DOWN AGAIN, SO IF I TYPE MY STEALTH NAME WILL THE DEPOSITS COME TO MY BANK ACCOUNT?

No, they dont. Yet again, the newbies slip in with half baked info and stuff up threads.

Those of us here for ages always used to say use entropay to verify paypal to start the stealth account.

Lifting limits (like the £1900) was always expressed differently. And that should still be the case.

If that could be maintained, then neither cortex, oompappa or me would have problems.

Part of the trouble is that people have an aversion to reading threads AND jump into a thread with 'their' topic that is not always the same.:juggle: :rant:

Oh and one last question, can paypal somehow figure out who I am through my bank account?
I'am not going to add money to pp from my bank so I'am just asking if there is any other options for them to hunt me down through my bank?

If you use the same bank account numbers they will.;)

Some of the banks are known to exchange info.

And how about data protection law? Doesn't it applies to bank?

Might apply to a bank. But paypal pays little attention to it.

You're making it worse case scenario. Run the account well, give good service, dont annoy paypal.

yes, halifax usually accepts different names.

my original answer was back in 2009, I was virtually a newb then!
so buyer account does not need bank but for seller account add bank.

entropay doesnt verify paypal account in the UK it may have in the past but it doesnt anymore

well not for me anyway and i have tried it with 3 stealth accounts

i have however now got my first verified paypal stealth account by adding a bank account

i also have found to now sell on ebay in UK you need a verified paypal account before you can sell as i tried to sell before my paypal deposits were banked and it wouldnt allow me

the deposits have banked today i entered into paypal i am now verified for paypal and ebay so i can finally sell



i think there was confusion in this post regarding entropay cards to verify your account i think many people including myself were under the impression you can open as many paypal accounts as you like and verify them all with differnt entropay cards

the truth is you cant you need bank accounts to verify now like i said earlier it may have been ok in the past but it doesnt look like it anymore

i used stealth name for bank and i am using santander all come back ok deposits were sent and verified on paypal

What kind of problems have you had though?

By the way, adding a bank to PayPal to verify is actually the norm.

i have just created a paypal account and it asks for a bank account to verify and not enropay prepaid credit card which is on paypal

i thought it was the norm but this thread and some of the things written are a bit misleading

people including myself have been led to think you can verify a paypal account with an entropay card which i found the idea very appealing because making new cards on entropay is much easier than getting new bank accounts

i havent had any problems as such but i am left wondering why i actually went through all the entropay polava and waiting for deposits to be took

i could have just added a bank account in the first place

^^ Yeah and added your VCC card when you wanted to remove the £1900 limit.

I can open a new bank acc with a bank (that allows deposits in different names) with my real details.
I can open a stealth e b and p;p acc and verify using this real bank acc .
They allow this because they cannot see my details apart from acc and sort #.

Have I got this right?

So I can give e;b and p;p any name and add to create a stealth - do they run any checks?

What bank are you going to open your new current account? Most banks will allow payments under different names but some are strict and do not.

Yes if your bank allow payments under a different name, you can easily get the two deposits sent to your bank account and verify your account.

PP will only see the info you give them. PP do run checks from what I gather, some people have mentioned Electoral Register and they do run credit checks. Considering most people use bogus details, once you get so far with PP, they require documents to be sent as they cannot find anything about you basically.:D

yes you are correct apart from the checks they probably do but they will be limited as to what they can search so it probably will only be the electoral roll

I have a question regarding recent (last 7-8 weeks) p;.p verification.

I know they say "we will deposit 2 samm amounts ...etc"
But, when i did this a short while ago, helping set up someone else's real acc (before stealth was even known to me or indeed needed by me) - they seem to have taken some out too.
Im not 100% sure - im gonna have to look online first - but i distinctly recall the person i helped was confused as she was supposed to have a nice neat multiple of 10 in her acc (plus the small change p;p place in)- but after p;p verification process - this was not the case (ps. there are not lots of dd'd on the acc - none infact).

This may suggect they are also withdrawing a small amount to verify name on acc.

Also, VM have done this to me this week when i applied for a new contract phone - i was making a card payment to pay for the delivery, this resulted in my bank card being frozen by the bank due to suspicious activity (vm took 2 lots of £0.01 within seconds of each other - as well as the £4.99) - they did not inform me of this even though the bank says they definatly should have.

Now this could have been that mandatory credit check - but if they are adopting the same practice - well that only means one thing - bad news. I hope I am not correct!! Please!!

I was under the impression that you could only verify a uk paypal account with a uk bank account. how did you manage to verify your paypal account with just a entropay VCC? Do entropay give you an account number and sort code?

^ You have to have a bank account on file to become verified with PayPal.

Entropay only gives you a credit card number, valid/expiry dates and a security code. It is used for the credit card on PayPal and not as the bank account.
