problems linking bank account to Paypal

I tried linking my bank account to my Paypal but I kept getting the message ""Sorry we are not able to process your request. Please Try again later" . Has anyone encountered this problem before and is there a way around it?

Had this a few times in last few weeks, especially on 'Gremlin Fridays'

If you try a few times it should normally eventually go through, as long as you are using all the correct details and it is an account compatible with paypal.

The bank is Barclays bank UK.

barclays should be fine, even savers work.....keep trying or else you will have to call in and have it added manually......

Its been reported a few times with Barclays recently.

You can try again in 24/48 hours but if it still fails you would need to phone them for PayPal to manually add it for you

How do I do that? the account isn't under my name as it is attached to a card. would they ask for account holders name?

You phone

They ask the stealth name. You give them that

They when ask for the account number and sort code. They add the bank account

Job done you then just add in the code to the PayPal account and you have yourself a verified PayPal

Does the call have to be made from the phone number attached to my Paypal account?

paypal just need the banks details eg. account number and sort code. You obviously need to call up as the paypal holder name.

Obviously, but I am asking if the number used to make the call to paypal has to be my primary number on my Paypal account?

No it doesn't so long as its not linked to any other PayPal accounts you can use any number you want

Nope. Bank account only.

You can only withdraw to a bank account in the UK

No success adding my barclays account so far. I guess I would have to call....or would an email do it?

yes I emailed it once years ago, worth a try....

I have had this error recently, usually it adds the second time you try.

However I think the issue is its a barclays saver. The last 2 times I opened a barclays saver they would not add to paypal. The only way to add it is to call and get them to add it manually.

Do your account have any limitation. As if it is under verification or limitation,then most of the time you ca not add new account.
