MC011 - Funds held and account restricted
I have had an account with my personal details and MP for about 3 years and sold about 1000 items with great feedback. The sales were well spread out across the period.
After one big spike in sales of one day my funds were suddenly put on hold.
An MC011 - account restricted - was triggered right after.
Ebay first asked me for proof of delivery and tracking of the items for sale. And they said it will take them 5 days to review.
I sell digital software keys and digital goods and there's no such thing as true delivery by post.
However, just to comply with their request, I bought tracked postage labels for each one of the sales and provided all of the tracking details. I contacted CS and they said this was fine and they said they ticked the box in this sense. The Feedback from sellers confirmed that everything was delivered on time.
After not being reinstated and not receiving any further message from eBay for 2 weeks I contacted customer service again... they informed me that now they want me to provide:
- proof of identity (with photo ID)
- proof of address
- invoices for the items I sold
What's going to happen if I refuse to give in and provide any of the further documents they asked?
Can they hold my fund indefinitely? Will they be released eventually after 2-3 months? My feedback is great and I haven't had a single dispute with any buyer, ever. |
