Royal Mail Claim

I've sent an item via 2nd Class Recorded, buyer hasn't received the item and it's been a month so I got a P58 form to fill in to claim compensation,

It requires receipt but I purchased the item online, can I provide them with Amazon receipt which I'll print off?

Also how does the claim work? Original purchase price + postage = My claim costs?

Can someone help me please

How does Royal Mail calculates the compensation?

Is it Original purchase price + postage = My claim costs?

they_screwed_me_too 02-25-2013 01:04 PM

it is the amount it cost the customer to acquire, purchase or manufacture the item

Postage refund, plus compensation on basis of the customer’s actual loss. This compensation is subject to the maximum payable being the lower of the market value of the item and £46.

I've purchased the item on Amazon for £36 and sold it on eBay for £24 and sent it via 2nd Class Recorded, do I provide Royal Mail the Amazon or eBay receipt?

Will Royal Mail accept a print off Amazon receipt?

Also it will be £36 + £3.65 (Postage) = My compensation claim?

I've purchased the item on Amazon for £36 and sold it on eBay for £20, does that mean I'll get £20 plus the postage I paid to send the item to the buyer?

Stigger 03-08-2013 03:49 AM

no.

likes been said...... give them the amazon one.

that what it cost you...regardless of what you have sold it for.

if the customer was claiming which they are not then the answer for them would be Yes.

I've sold the item on eBay, do I need to provide them the eBay sales page and Paypal transaction or just the Amazon receipt?

@casterina, I never figured best way to do it either. If you provide transaction for paypal, on the page it is in stealth name, and different to the name you want your cheque in.

maybe better to avoid ebay claim altogether, just provide the receipt for when it was originally bought and say as little as poss.

as for buyer, they get a letter of confirmation from RM, they should just reply saying they did not get it, and you are good to go....

amazon one.... ignor that lot.

Like i said that would be relevant if it was the customer claiming.
