Guidelines used to be that the item had to 'drop freely though the gap'. About a year ago it changed to 'needs to fit though gap' (not exact quotes). Not all branches seem to be aware of the change in directive from Royal Mail though.

Ha ha I didn't know that. She often initials my receipt when its forced through to show that its being sent against her advice and so they wont be held liable.

defenitly down to the specific post office , my girls at my post office will send any parcel to my specific requirement , just by marking LL with a green sticker , a SPECIAL with a blue sticker and a SP with a orange label , they are happy to process each and every item but state if the item is not delivered it is down to me , this has been going on since 2008 when i started posting my items and never have i had a returned item for lack of pre postage ie sent as LL instead of SP ect.
find a decent local village PO who wants your business and strike a deal with them .

There is a method to receive free labels so you won't need to pay for first class, signed for etc.

Just had the double edge sword of the post office changes as I walked in just as they were changing the boxes over.

Some of them I will have to refund the extra charge but the included in the price shipping is a bonus to me. So nice to have the extra money but a pain having to refund the others one by one.

Do people still use Royalmail for ebay sales? In what capacity is it better than hermes?

More post offices around so convenience
