I havnt seen anything unusual.
Could it be the items youre selling that's attracting more attention this time of year?

Dont think it is down to what you are selling as have had major crackdrown myself with this too on accounts with unbranded generic items.
Others are having paypal limitations left right and centre for UK accounts so it is one or the other right now. And as we know one without the other are no use after that.

Yes they're handing out more MC999 especially when APPL products are being listed on brand new accounts

Re: ebay crack down on accounts

I think at this present time its even more important to look like a "real" Ebay customer. recently I was lazy and listed a brand new item straight away for about £5, the picture I lifted from Amazon. I Got MC999'd so i went to Ebay chat to lift it, took a LONG time, asking me all these questions. Eventually they lifted but as soon as I sold that item my Paypal account got limited.

Re: ebay crack down on accounts

If they are for Apple it does not matter if they are branded as Apple or not, Apple will still shut down the listing.

Interesting..... how can Apple have the listings ended if the cases are not Manufactured by them, nor do they have the apple logo or word on them anywhere... they only have the actual Manufacturers own logo on the them

I go to many mobile shops who sell unbranded apples goods.

If they are allowed to sell then God knows what the problem with eBay. I guess the power sellers have some sort of deals.

Re: ebay crack down on accounts

eBay panders to big companies and gives them the power to remove any listing they want.

Best to just avoid anything to do with Apple.

Most of the powersellers are selling the unbranded ones as well but their account can handle it because they've built up such a reputation

funny thing is, I started a stealth this way because I had read on here prior to it "best to start off an acc with some cheap iphone cases"

but tbh I did think to myself before doing it "surely ebay will be well aware of this trick by reading on here theirselves..."

you live & learn...

Used books and general household items are the best way to start :thumb:

I know mate,

but do you not think that the more "popular methods" are posted on here, then ebay employees read it on here, then start looking very closely at new acc's that sell in this manner??

I would even think that ebay have likely got staff registered on this forum and are actively posting / joining in discussions...

opinions?

Re: ebay crack down on accounts

eBay do not have the man power to look in detail at every single used book listing...

They are not all that bothered about low risk items like that.

Start listing beats and you will get their attention.

johnquango 11-24-2014 07:11 AM

Re: ebay crack down on accounts

beats is of no interest to me. but I have seen plenty sellers selling the "cables / leads" etc and wonder how they get it away with when they get regular feedback from buyers saying Not Genuine...
