VOIP and transfer call

Hi,
I have got a question:
If I set up a VOIP service and buy a phone number, can I them transfer the call from the voip number to my landline one?

Most VOIP services have call forwarding. It should be in your setting after so many rings, the call can be forwarded to whatever number you setup.

So, can someone confirm 100% that Voip works? I ask this question because someone else in this forum said it does not work anymore.

I don't know why it would not work...I have heard that also but I don't see a reason why it would not work.

In the US it works, in the UK last I checked it does not.

I signed up on voipfone uk and got my own number-first time I pressed the call me now button on ebay, it didnt work, didnt second time, third time it did! Since then I have set up 4/5 seller accounts and using voipfone uk - but just be aware it might not work first time and you might have to keep trying.

I've used VOIP and call forwarding to a landline in the UK to verify PayPal & Ebay without a problem.

The only reason I can see that it wouldn't work as other members have pointed out is if you are unlucky enough to get issued with a recycled number from a suspended Ebay/PayPal user as VOIP companies do recycle numbers.

Are users all using the same company "voipfone" for voip activation? Also what are the total costs incurred for using this method?

I can confirm voipfone to be working and minimal setup costs. Although their site/ features are not very easy to use/ setup.

i tried to set up an account but within 30 minutes they refunded my money saying my order was declined, i asked them why but they said they "We are unable to see the reasons as to why orders are declined"
Anyone else had this problem?

I have used voipfone to good effect. It's £1.99 to set up an incoming call number (on the package builder section). I have recently had to add £5 credit which I belive is a new feature for incoming calls as it previosly free.

Tips on Voipfone:
1,make sure to choose a number that is local to your area (the right code)
2, Click ACTIVE DIVERT and divert all number to either (a) your landline or (b) your mobile. That way - when listing items from a different IP you won't have a problem if eBay call you.
3, Cancel numbers that you have used previously and are no longer connacted to eBay.

I think Voipfone is great and with the 'active divert' option there is no need to download a 'soft phone'
