Default Blessing in disguise?

I am currently having the usual issues with PP and right now I am optimistically thinking that MP could actually be a blessing in disguise.
  1. Only one stealth to manage (eBay) as opposed to PP and eBay
  2. One set of customer services - they can't blame issues on one another or play you off against the other
  3. Potentially fewer 21 day holds?

Any thoughts on this? Can anyone else see the upside?

It would be if a SSN was not required. No more true stealth accounts. Having multiple accounts that are not connected will likely not be doable.

My view is it is not in their interest. The truth is that most volume sellers will get suspended at one time or another. If eBay found a way to truly limit accounts to one per person EVER, they would quickly have no sellers and no buyers.

They might not act like it now but I think they need sellers as much as we need them. Hopefully there's an element of wilful blindness.

This is a concern as if they can check your UTR then they can see your real address.

Other option is to register an LTD to a registered office.

Would it be likely of ebay asking for a UTR? I would have thought the tax company would only have the right to ask that

No one knows - Amazon ask for your UTR so it is possible Ebay will ask for it

As above said, Amazon do, so its entirely possible eBay will, but I've not known anyone on Etsy being asked for it (Ayden powered). Although it may not happen in the initial wave. As we have seen with PayPal, they grow their systems and processes over time.

The HMRC already know it, why would they ask for it?

These companies have the right to confirm your identification, its your right not to give it, but that means you can't use their platforms.

Their response to this when I asked

'documents will be stored with bank level encryption and only accessible by select eBay employees'
