Buyer requesting seller details?
 

Hi all,

Can a buyer request a sellers registered name and address from ebay?

My despatch address, return address and offline payments address (for cheques etc..) is already changed to my PO box address.

Account is real not stealth, my registered address is my home address and don't want people to see that

I dont think y ou can get seller phone number anymore,everything has to go thru Ebay messaging

Do you think ebay can give them your registered name and address?
As I said, my return name and address is different, so if they create a return request they can't see it that way...

your return shipping label will have the return address you sign up with eBAY.

There used to be an option to request a seller's direct contact information but I'm sure that feature has been removed by now. Like agent hinted at.. eBay has made it where almost all communication must be done through their platform. It's nearly impossible to even get email addresses these days.

Do you mean if you buy postage from ebay the return address on there will be my registered address?

Or do you mean if a buyer created a return address, the label you can buy from ebay has my registered address on as return address?

If you've changed your return address then the buyer will see whatever new return address you added. There is no reason for your registration address to be on return labels if you've changed your return address. :doh:

Can a buyer request your full name and address from PayPal do you know?

Both statements are incorrect.

If you add a new return address and you use eBay to print your shipping labels, your shipping labels will show whatever your current return address is. Tons of sellers use warehouses for order fulfillment - making the registration address totally irrelevant.

If a buyer requests a return and you use eBay to send them a return label, the label will show whatever return address you're currently using. Again, registration address is irrelevant.

What about if you get a vero takedown, can ebay give the rights owner your registered name and address?

(Curious as I've had 2 vero takedown before, once for a high end real product, but was used, and once where I made a mistake by adding a brand name to increase SEO for a different product)

Yes they can and do.. but I've never heard of anything resulting from it.
