Default MP Plan A

Real name (friend)
Real date of birth (friend)
Real address (friend)

I'm thinking that ill pass the soft credit check with no problem as he's been at the same address forc15 years and is on the electoral register.

The bank account verification is proving tricky.

Bank account (my name).

Trustly - no good, both Trustly and eBay will see the mismatched names on the account. Result, account goes down.

eBay micro payments - seemed like a good idea until it was confirmed that they extract the micropayments after confirmation of receipt. So again, eBay will be able to see name on account doesn't match the name on bank account. Result, account goes down.

Which leaves creative docs. Has anyone had any joy with them?

Not an option, as although he has been kind enough to lend me his ID, having funds go through his bank or business accounts would cause him tax and other financial burdens and problems.

It’s quite probable that all of the sale is going through in his name on eBay will have the same liability issues because technically it would be him earning the money. Potentially another option would be to use a business bank account but it’s not something I’ve explored yet

I have tried creative documents a few months ago (high quality ones that pass Paypal every time) and MP rejected it. Strangely they didn't ban my account, they just asked for another ID!

I dont think you need creative ID docs when you're registering a real person, with real address, real DoB, etc.

The creative docs I was referring to was a bank statement.

Apologies, should have been clearer in my original post.

Absolutely. Where the monies end up is effectively irrelevant, the friend is trading on ebay and is responsible for the statutory demands and potential awkwardness that goes with it.

Its pretty obvious that it would your friend that would be responsible for any tax affair.

Would Ebay send infos to HMRC in the first place? under what circumstances?

Depending on your account type & despite what eBay says, you should still be able to use a savings account to force the microdeposits to fail a round trip.

That should leave submitting an account statement as the only option. You don't want to mess that up. If in doubt, start with an original PDF...
Other checks may follow but you should be sorted on the bank side of things.

You're right about savings account rejecting eBays request to withdraw, meaning they wouldn't be able to verify the account, so would request docs.

Would they accept a screen print? I'm completely paperless with online access and apps these days.
