| | | maharashtra | 12-29-2021 06:32 PM | At what point do eBay request Photo ID? I have set up managed payments with real info.
So far so good, I have not been asked for a photo ID as all details match.
But I have heard that ebay may request a photo ID after reaching a certain number of sales.
Does anyone know what point ebay request a photo ID? Is it £2000 like paypal? |

Re: At what point do eBay request Photo ID? Just as an aside, if it is a legitimate account created with real info why the concern about providing ID?
I know from experience that eventually you will be asked for ID, I've just had to provide it on two accounts - one business, one private seller.
Endless threads on here to verify...... |

Endless threads on here to verify...... | I don't have a photo ID as I am disabled and unable to drive, I would rather not have to get one just for ebay as I am only selling the occasional items from my own personal possessions to have a bit of a clear out.
If necessary then I can get a hold of one but depends what the limit is. If it's £2000 per year like paypal then it's probably not worth it for me as I am unlikely to make that much.
I have searched the forum but could not find any info on when exactly people received that email, but I only went back about 5 pages so may have missed something.
Do know how much money you had made on each account when you received it? And if both are based in the UK or you have business registered abroad? |
| murdered_by_ebay | 12-30-2021 03:14 PM | Re: At what point do eBay request Photo ID? if you stated your real details which can be checked through experian and used bank account from a major UK bank then it is likely you will not need to provide ID if no other issues arise
don't mind what hank wrote about this ID requests , he used EMI's which were blacklisted by ebay so his accounts are as good as dead. within the next 1-3 months they will get a silent suspension with the pending balance being seized by ebay |

In that case it should be ok as I am with a major high street bank. I might just take my chances and see what happens. Thanks for the advice. |

This would usually be good news on here, but I’m sure a few people are gonna bitch |

the main question is always whether it is a standard ID request or a special ID request
standard would mean a red banner in the account with a direct link to personal details and ID upload
special is what hank described above , when you get an outside link to ebay.com rather than a red banner with a link on your local ebay site. with such a request the probability of suspension is close to 100% |

I have created a stealth account with real name and DOB but it's not mine and I don't have this person ID. Is it possible to get creative with ID and pass this check? |

| samspalace | 06-10-2022 12:38 PM | Re: At what point do eBay request Photo ID? So guys my bank account has been verified eBay are about to take deposits out which I think they will be able to as it’s a current account so will eBay not ask for bank statement or photo ID if they successfully take the deposits out of my account. Name and date of birth real slight address change tho. |
| stefandixon | 06-16-2022 12:30 PM | Re: At what point do eBay request Photo ID? It really depends, if you have already been verified, they have attained your details from electrol roll register, however they sometimes let through accounts not on electrol roll too, if thats the case you will soon get a knock on your ebay messages door asking to manually upload ID etc. They used to have around a £4000 threshold but its lower now |

Which is why when you make a sale they message you asking for ID
Maybe USA accounts is different where you can use any real address but U.K. maybe different | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:34 PM. | |
