Can I import customers email from paypal?
 

I am finishing building a website. Is it any chance I can get all the emails from paypal?

You can, but it's against paypal policy.

Old thread but just in case someone comes along...
Filter all paypal emails into a folder (Label) if you use gmail.
Connect with Mozilla Thunderbird and download the contents of the folder.
Use a free script (search google) to extract email, Name... etc to excel sheet.
Remember to exclude promotional mails from paypal before you send out your promotions.

That's the easy part.
What you need to be worried about is that these people are not on your 'opt in' list so unless you first ask their permission, you're not authorized to send them promotions.

If you do there's a high chance your messages will be relegated to spam/junk folder.
your SMTP server and IP address will also be blacklisted.


There're ways to get around these such as outsourcing.

You can get it from going into the paypal and in the activity section, download statement and you get it in a nice format ready to load into other programs.

Also, check out sendblaster for mass email campaigns etc.
You can import the file you download from paypal easily into that.

That depends on your account type. If you have a business account, it's a little easy, otherwise it's a nightmare as you can only download 30 days at a time.
And the email addresses (your reason for downloading your history in the first place) will not be included.

As regards sendblaster, you'd still have the same risks. Sendblaster is run locally so you'd need an smtp server. Sendblaster can offer you one but it's been abused to death already so it's safe to expect your messages to end up in the junk folder.

You may use your own smtp within sendblaster, but you'd have to pay a fortune to get a 'clean' one to handle a massive project. Not really sustainable in my opinion especially if you have to send out newsletters regularly.

I would use a clean smtp to double opt-in my list then move to another affordable service.
